The C7 Z06 can reach 125 MPH quicker than the C6 Z06, but from 125 to 150 MPH, the C6 Z06 is definitely quicker.

I read in a magazine this morning that 185 is what it will do in a little over 1.5 miles. According to someone that saw the magazine test the conditions were perfect. 54 degrees and dead calm wind. This is with full stage 3 aero and a 2016 Z06. I heard the only modifications were and x-pipe and DSC controller. Stock intake and filter and everything else. The magazine guy was allegedly disappointed and stupid for not turning on the PDR. I also heard that with another .5 miles it may have hit 188 or so. That is about it with stage 3 aero.

Yep...C&D testing showed the C6 Z06 with "only" 505 HP took 17.4 seconds from 0-150. Their testing also showed the 650 HP C7 Z06 took 17.8 seconds for a 0-150 run.

Altimeter
My car is a 2015 Z06 with nav. and PDR. I'm unaware of an altimeter. Can you please advise me if there is one, and, if so, where to find it? Thanks.

128.32 MPH
This was the first, and last, run of the day so I'm sure I could have gotten more out of it. Got kicked out due to the old rules.
Anyway duh of course the C7Z is a way better car but I would not say it's considerable faster than the C6Z in a straight line.
btw my C7Z with X-pipe, PTB, Haltech has yet to best 124mph although there was probably some issue which if why I no longer have the Haltech.
Best,

Firemedic301- is that run on level ground? I live in MT and have plenty of perfectly flat wide open roads to do these kinds of runs. My M7 car is not climbing anything like yours in the 170+ range, particularly in the 180's. Granted, it is bone stock and I have stage 3 aero, but even before I installed the aero the car would barely pull into the mid 180's at the very top of 5th gear.

I find it quite useful. When I'm on a long road trip and bored, I use the altimeter to accurately measure my highway gas mileage.

Johnny Bohmer has the NASA landing strip for early June. There are a few spots left. I was going to go but have a schedule conflict. It isn't cheap but you have 3 miles total. I think up to 2.2 miles for go and .8 miles for whoa. There is a stock C7 Z06 Callaway that did 204 in Mojave in 1.5 miles. I think 2.2 is enough to top the C7 Z06 out.

Hi Dave
I did a 1/2 mile event on John Travolta's runway in Ocala, FL in Jan - and I wasn't too thrilled with doing 30 mph less than I can do when running the Rolex 24 roadcourse on the Daytona Speedway.
However.....I might really like to run an event on the NASA Shuttle Landing Strip!!
But I can't find any info about an event in June. Here's a site that has some sketchy info, and has a phone# and a contact link at the bottom of the page:
https://www.baddgt.com/provinggrounds
It doesn't say anything about any upcoming events, how to register, what the price is, etc., etc.
There is also a link on that site for IMRA - the Int'l Mile Racing Assoc.
www.internationalmileracingassociation.com
It doesn't have anything on that site about any NASA Shuttle Strip events either.
So....if you can get any info, let me know!! I might like to run a mile or 1-1/2 mile event!

Probably about 3 miles from a standstill. At Mojave Airport at 2600' wind aided, stock I did 196.5 MPH in the 1 1/2 mile traps vs 198 factory rating.

Mojave isn't doing any events this year so I may have to wait until April 2018 to give my HCI build a go at the 1 1/2 mile. I'll be doing a 1-mile event in 3 weeks, but that will be at 6300' and with the reduced power due to altitude I think 175 is about all I can d0. Stock at the Mojave 1-mile I did 173.5. With HCI at 800' I did 167 in 1/2 mile, with 40 MPH roll start.
I wish the fellow that posted about the event would give us more info. I would not make an east coast event, but would do the west coast.

If we can't figure out anything about a nice straight-line event on the 3-mile Shuttle Strip at KSC, you should still come on down this way in Oct or Dec for one of the HPDE track events on the Rolex 24 roadcourse at Daytona.
In my C6 Z06 I regularly did 175 mph across the S/F line before braking down for T1 into the infield twisties:
In my C6 ZR1 and C7 Z06 I do 185:
So....bring your car on down here to FL to run one of these events - you'll have fun if it's the mile or mile-and-a-half run, or if it's the Rolex track!!
