Not really needed. It's synthetic And really doesn't need it! Many on here will say change it every year regardless , but you're wasting money! Alot will determine the environment you live and store the car in. Maybe change it next year for peace of mind.
I'd say of most import is how many short trips it took. It's not as bad as the old "Carb with a choke" days, but they run richer during startup and that can lead to diluted oil and acidic combustion compounds building up.
For example, if you changed your oil a year ago, drove 1754 miles in a single trip, and parked it for a year, your oil is still fine.
If, however, you're like my Dad who drove a 1/2 mile to work every day and put no miles on but did a cold start every day, then you'd want to change it.

what does your "oil life" tell you in the DIC? reason I ask, the car takes into account the fact you have NOT driven that many miles, etc.
If its been 12 months, the monitor will read zero even if the car has not moved in a year. You can either change it like many or just reset the monitor back to 100 percent and keep track of your miles and change it at 3k, 5k, or 7.5k if that is what you prefer. If you just ignore the monitor, it will remind you to change the oil every time you start the car so some just reset it.
