Default Z06 weight

Does anyone know what the weight of of a C7 Z06 is? The GM website says 3580lbs for a convertible. A door tag I am looking at says 4140lbs.

I'm finding it hard to believe there are almost 600lbs in options on this car.

It definitely does not weigh 4,100 lbs. That's the cargo/passenger weight capacity.

Just to clarify, that is the total rated weight for the vehicle, fluids, passengers and cargo.

I put mine on a scale with under 1/4 tank of fuel and it was 3420 (without me). My car is a 2LZ M7 Coupe.

I put my Stage 2 3LZ M7 on a scale and saw the same with a little less than 1/4 tank.

Default Gentleman, check your doors.

4118 lbs. (GVW) - 525lbs. (PW) = 3593 lbs. 'total' vehicle weight on the road with a full tank of gas.

Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW)= includes a full tank of gas and all fluids, sticker located on drivers door.

Passenger Weight (PW)= Total passenger weight/cargo, sticker located in drivers door opening.

This if from my 2015 'A8' Z06.

I put this on a truck scale and found these numbers to be correct, however the truck scale did have a 20 lb. +/- rating.

Here's what my 2LZ M7 Z07 Coupe weighed with a full tank of gas on the scales in the NASCAR tech shed at Daytona.

It would weigh about 110 lbs less if the tank was empty.

I've never had it corner weighted, but you can see how nicely balanced it is, at least when I'm not in it.

First picture below is full fuel, but I'm not in it.

Second picture my 225 lbs is in the car, and that skewed the balance to the left.

My convertible was just under 3500 with me not in it and maybe a 1/3 tank of fuel. For whatever reason the convertible isn't must heavier than the coupe.

The 2018 Corvette Order Guide lists the curb weight of Z06 Convert as 3582 lbs.; Coupe as 3524 lbs.

From that online encyclopedia:
Curb weight (US English) or kerb weight (English) is the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables such as motor oil, transmission oil, coolant, air conditioning refrigerant, and a full tank of fuel, while not loaded with either passengers or cargo.

And I believe the manufacturers generally use the basic, low-level trim configuration. "Standard equipment" probably means "no options".

That's correct, so it would reflect the weight of the 1LZ, with the base aero configuration.

Have a look here for weights as measured on racing scales:

To find out the GVW for any vehicle or trailer etc is to read the max. gross weight on each tire then add them all up.
Yes, I asked myself too why I mentioned this.
