I started getting charges from OnStar after 8 months saying I had to pay 37 and some change each month on my corvette to keep Guidance and 911 services. Could not cancel unless canceled entire services anyone else doing this haven't heard of it.

The features you mention are FREE for the first 6-months of service I believe and after that you need to pay for them. The BASIC OnStar plan does NOT include those features. Check the following link and read all about what is and is NOT covered in the BASIC PLAN and how to cancel, etc.

Did you call them and talk to them? I have found they are very reasonable. I keep the Protection Plan on 3 of my vehicles. You can pay for one year and they can also provide discounts from the basic charges.

Have 4 Chevys and a Caddy, all OnStar equipped - I've spoke to them about a discount of some sort or another, with zero luck.
The new Caddy experience was the worst support I've ever encountered. No one could say for sure if the service provider was/is Verizon, which it apparently used to be, or AT&T which it's now supposed to be for cars newer than 2014. At least that's the impression I was finally left with.
As a result, if you are in an area that doesn't have an AT&T signal, you won't connect to OnStar (I have confirmed this much). It just rings with no notice that there is no service at this location and it finally says "your call has ended". I could go on.
