Default Thoughts on adding Nitrous

Wanted to know if anyone is running nitrous on a modded Z06?
What are the downsides of doing it ?
Thanks

I too am curious and thinking of doing the same. On my past nitro cars
I had to run a dedicated fuel pump for the nos system.
Worst that can happen "KABOOM".

I've heard you really should do a CAM or the DOD delete in order to do it.

My car is in the process of being heavily modded. Cam,Headers,Ported Heads and Throttle Body, E85 setup etc!

Will the bottom end hold up to nitrous with the added boost?

KABOOM isn't what I wanted to hear unless it's the sound of blowing past my competitors! lol

Can't imagine why... not like DOD is going to be kicking in at the same time as your WOT switch triggers the N2O!

I have heard that 900-1000whp is through threshold for a stock LT4. With good tuning you will be fine.

Indeed, as long as your tuner is on point, nitrous is a great option on these cars.

What about autos with torque management? An extra couple hundred ft lbs the computer doesn't know about might not be too good huh...

I have it on my car and it loves it I'm hitting it with a 250 shot it does have a bunch of mods including cam no dedicated fuel when I'm gonna run it on the track of go street racing I run c16 but I'm tuned for it I won't spray it unless I'm sure all the pump gas is out and the good stuff is in it but I dyno with spray around 950 and it works great but u will need to run a progressive control I have maximized 4 and I love it I can dial it in to hit great on the street it u need some info message me and I'll give u my number if u want to talk about it

Thanks Asphalt1
Glad to hear it's working great for you. What is the progressive control you mentioned?

I used about a 210 shot when my car was stock. Even the tune, but I only used 100% 100 octane unleaded fuel when doing so. It would not want to shift from 1st to 2nd at times. I had removed it. I now have a cam, headers, no cats, both blower pulley's... I think I'm going to reinstall it just a very small shot for the high IAT-temps and to aid in the cool down time between runs. Where I race we don't get much cooling time between rounds. I get there early and have time then, but once we start I don't. I also have a buddy that has it on his Z06, but I don't know how big his shot is. He beats me my about a fender as they sit right now.

Did it not shift from 1st to 2nd because you hadn't tuned the car ?

How do you run C16 without frying the O2 sensor?

Yes, that's correct. At the time it was still on the stock tune.
