Default Motion sensor warning?

Hey guys/gals I have 7000 on my 16 Z06 and I have started getting a "motion sensor detected" warning. I googled it and couldn't find anything. Has anybody gotten this before? First time it happened was on the open road unwrapping a burger and doing the 2 second steer with my knee? Did it detect something with that? Thanks

You might have hit the motion sensor on/off switch with your knee. It's left of steering wheel, low enough to possibly hit with your knee.

I'm marking this one down for the next transmission argument:

A8 - You can eat a burger while driving.

Turns the interior motion sensor off. If you leave your dog in the cabin and lock the car/arm the alarm, it will go off due to the motion sensed inside the cabin. Turn it off and your dog won't activate alarm.

If you have the auto locking function enabled, then run into the 7-11 to buy a slim jim with your FOB, and your wife/girlfriend/on-niter is in the car, she will set off the alarm.

This post by no means is meant to approve leaving you dog/wife/girlfriend/on-niter in the car in attended. Remember the cabin can heat up really fast and cause heatstroke to those left inside.

Default Intrusion sensor disable switch..

don't think kneeing the switch while driving would activate the alarm, if anything it would disable the alarm. However in order to disable the alarm the Beast needs to be turned off. That switch will disable both the Inclination and the Intrusion sensor's...

And in reading the OP's post, it appears this has happened more than once as he states "I have started getting"... ????

I would imagine the default setting is ON and he bumped the button. I suspect the message was likely "Motion Sensor Disabled", not "motion sensor detected". A second press turns it back on.

My convertible has this button, but I was told there is no interior motion detector.

My guess is that this button is overloaded, and is used for the "tow away" sensor, which the convertible does have. Anyone know?

The convertibles have both sensors and I've tested them both

Easy to test if you want to, go sit in the car and have someone walk away with the fob, or have someone lock the doors with the fob while you're sitting in it.. wait until the red indicator light on the dash starts a slow flash and then move a little..
