Default LT4 question

Hello all! Just a quick question pertaining to the LT4. I understand there is a 500 mile break in period and then you change oil. Does the computer hold back on performance in these 500 miles and after you surpass that it gives you all of it? This actually pertains to a ZL1 Camaro but it is the same engine and I am betting the same break in procedure. I drove one today and am buying it but it seemed a little flat for 650/650. Was wondering if nannies where responsible.

No difference. Dynoed one with 11 miles and 1000 miles and was within a few HP.

Actually I think the break in is written up a little different. For one thing the vette is a dry sump. It seems like the ZL1 was a longer break in. Anyway, like noted already, you can find videos of dynoing and top speed runs being made from day one. The Hennessy videos for example will have the reduced redline flashing during their top speed run. If your used to the vette and the ZL1 feels flat that could be just feel because of the difference in chassis between the two cars.

Some cars do, like the GT500s. I remember that the SC would not fully kick-in until a certain mileage threshold, but not the Z06. The halo, or whatever it's call on the tachometer, will change at 500 miles. That's it; and the oil change as you had mentioned.

Trading a 15-yr old car? Wow, that car will probably go right to auction so I'll assume you are getting very little for it. I sold mine privately last year when I moved to a C7Z, original owner with 18k miles.

18K..........And yes, they are going to wholesale it because they don't want to retail a car that has been modified like mine has (cam/heads/ect) Plus I am the wholesale manager for our dealership chain so I actually was the one who placed it!!!!!!
