The Z06 with Z07 does have some suspension differences vs. a Z06 without Z07. As to whether it affects ride, I am not sure as I have only driven Z06's with Z07 options installed..
Is there any difference in the suspension between a 2017 Z06 with the Z07 option and one without it? Ride difference?
According to some previous posts in DSC threads the Z07 has somewhat stiffer transverse leaf springs. I don't know about the shock settings in the various modes.
I would suspect this would make the ride a bit firmer the a standard Z06 model. I don't have a Z07 but I can definitely say the C7 Z06 has a much softer ride in some settings then my previous C6 Z06 which over some expansion joints tried to loosen fillings in my teeth.
I had a 2015 Z06/Z07 M7 first. I sold it and ordered my current 2016 A8 with out the Z07 package. The Z07 absolutely beat me to death, especially with the Comp seats. I didn't choose them again either. But, I DD my car...40K miles at this time so comfort is very important to me. I do track the car both drag racing, autoX and road course and I am very happy with it's performance.
"I reached out to a friend of mine and was able to get the details directly from the chief suspension engineer for the Corvette. As we already know the suspension on Z07 optioned cars (FE7) is stiffer than that on non-Z07 (FE6) cars. Specifically the springs, shocks, MR calibration, and stabilizer bar bushings are different from FE7 to FE6.
The front spring is 62% higher rate on the FE7 than the FE6.
The rear spring is 22% higher rate on the FE7 than the FE6.
The different stabilizer bar bushing tuning helps get the car the appropriate understeer level.
The MR shocks on the FE7 have a tighter gap which means a higher “passive” curve in addition to a more aggressive MR damping tuning."
Now let the chorus of "I can't tell the difference" and "the Z07 is how a sports car should feel" begin.
The Z07 has stiffer springs and different shock settings BUT the DSC Controller is unreal and makes the Z07 so controlled and street-comfortable that if you are on the fence, just go with the DSC07 (lol).
I had a 2014 base stingray, upgraded to Z51 suspension, then a 16 Z06, added the DSC, then a 17 Z07 and swapped the DSC over and I like it the most out of all the configs so far.
I can't speak to how much padding, but it was much firmer if that's a word. Very very stiff... My kidney's and low back just couldn't stand it.
FWIW, if you want an even more comfortable seat bottom experience, Relax the Back store in Charlotte( and other stores nationwide) sells a contoured seat insert Travel Lite by Lifeform for 145.00 that takes the edge off those seat edges that can numb out ones thighs. I love my Stingray in all aspects except for that hard -- seat bottom in the non comp seats. The Travel Lite seat insert cures that for me thank goodness.
Depends if you live in the northeast or northern states were the roads are not like they are in the south or west, the Z07 is harsh on some surfaces in these areas. I live in PA and upstate NY, I would only buy the Z07 option, love it 99% of the time, and I am old

Exactly what I thought. Since we travel in the car, I will avoid the Z07 option. Thanks.
