It could be as simple as a connector not properly seated so check the connection to the plug at that cylinder.
I have seen a few reports of spark plug failure lately which seems odd. Often a bad coil pack is the reason for this code although a damaged plug (plug with part of electrode missing causing far too wide of a gap) can lead to coil pack damage so if the dealer replaces the coil pack they should also replace the plug.
Thanks for the heads up on this guys. It was brutally hot yesterday when my son and I were running the car hard with oil/water temps really getting up there. No limp mode or obvious 'pulling' power; I was running a few gallons of 100 octane unleaded in the tank to try and avoid early detonation.
Thinking back there were a couple of times that I felt the car 'stumble/hesitate' under full throttle' perhaps that's when the 'misfire' episodes occurred. Regardless I'm not going to run it today until I get an answer from the dealer.
A failing coil pack is often heat sensitive so I wouldn't be surprised if that is the issue. I escaped this issue with my 2008 CTS but a lot of owners didn't and the problem usually became apparent under high heat/high load conditions.
