Mgw shifter

Amazing. There are 21 threads in the C7Z forum alone discussing the MGW shifter. Just amazing.....
Is there some reason so many people fail to use, or are unaware of the forum SEARCH feature?!?!?!

Ordered mine a couple weeks ago, being installed tomorrow morning. Supposed to be a little tight in the beginning, but after that, everything I've read says it's remarkable, big improvement over stock....which I didn't think was too bad!

It's he single best mod I have gotten. I can't believe I waited so long.
Shifts are precise and tight ... just improves the entire experience.

Have been using Core Shifters modified Hurst shifter for over 6 years and it is the best combination of short throw and minimal shift effort of any I have found. First in my C5, and then transferred to my C7.

Well, got my MGW installed today and like most all of the other posts have said, it is really nice. I bought the conventional MGW short throw shifter, not the "flat stick" short throw shifter (if you're unfamiliar with these 2 different arrangements, check out MGW's website for some pictures). The short throw shifter 's height is adjustable when you install it, giving the driver the option of raising the shift **** as much as 1", or even a bit more...I had mine raised about 1/2" higher. Took my GM mechanic about 90 minutes or less to complete the job. The shifts are so firm and clean right now, I really should have done this last year. I'm sure the Hurst shifter is of high quality, no doubt, but I just can't believe that any of the other brands could be any better made, easier and/or quieter.

How is long did it take from ordering to being delivered?
thanks

I think adding multiple posts on the same topic are what keep these forums running.
The more clicks these posts get, the more the site generates in ad revenue.
I understand it probably gets bothersome seeing the same posts multiple times... but does it really bother you THAT much? Lol

that was the surprising part of dealing with MGW. I ordered it over the phone and the girl I spoke with said it would ship in 10-12 days, so I figured I get it in 2 weeks+, with shipping time. It arrived Fed Ex about 10 days after I ordered it! This shifter is so solid, it's kinda like a bank vault. Mechanically, it slides into place just like it's in a track...very, very solid. And I really like the fact I could raise the shift **** up a little, now it fits perfectly for me. If you buy one, I don't think you will be disappointed at all!

I've never understood why people get mad about these sort of things.

I agree with this agreement! Sometimes, asking the same question leads to new responses or goes in a slightly different direction that offers new insight. Nothing wrong with that.

Put mine in a couple of weeks ago, I can't get enough of it. With the stock shifter i just thought it was a learning curve or getting used to it. That's the way it was with my GS.This one I just never felt comfortable with. As far as I'm concerned it's the best mod an M7 owner can do. The install was pretty easy although they could tweek the install video a little, show the removal of the original and it's disassembly and a little help for convertible owners. The waterfall has to come out and how to do it.
