Mods needed to drag race a Porsche 911 S ?

A stock 911S will kill a stock ZO6 in a drag race. AWD > RWD. So drag radials are a must to Launch. Even though they weigh about the same and the 911 is rated at 580Hp, the turbo torque/hp curve has more acceleration. What would you add to the ZO6 to get another 60-75 rwhp to get the advantage ?
with get you near another 100hp would seem to be plenty with some stickies on the rear. The main thing is the Z needs to hook.

I ran one a while back and got ram roasted. And I'm pushing over 700 at the wheels. Not sure if he was stock, but still. We had a few corners to go around, so that played a part. We prob ran for a good 2-3 miles. I wasn't as brave as he was going into the corners. He took them at around 100, I backed off around 80. Once we got through a few benders, he was long gone.

Well, it does get the blood pumping so. I very rarely will do one of these on the ............mexican streets, but I had to. He had more ***** than I had. I'm sure if Tony Stewart was driving my car, he would of ram roasted the Porsche. I hit those turns with high anxiety. haha. Dude in the Porsche was like, screw it. Hammer down biach.

LMR 750 Package. That was in 100 degree heat, 100% humidity too. I roll back in the winter, I'll get another good 30-40 out of it I'd imagine. 700 is enough for me on the streets. I'm honestly scared of going higher. I wanted to do the 1000 hp build, but I'm good. I'd prob kill myself with 1000 hp. And honestly, I have no idea if my car is running right. We've had to retune 4 times. Replace 2 cats due to major knocking. (My fault......I was putting 87 and 89 octane in to save a few bucks). If I took it back now in cooler temps and throw some race gas in it, I'm sure I'd get mid 700's to the wheels. Either way, for my daily, it's freaking crazy fast enough for me.

Oh believe me, I trust you !! haha
It's comical the comments by some on how these two cars match up in a 1/4 mile race... Obviously an AWD system will allow a great launch, but that's short lived. I've seen many Talon TSi, EVo and Subbies crush cars .... For the first 60 feet, then the hammer drops.

I have both a '16 Turbo S and an A8...your logic may work for the low HP cars you mentioned, but you obviously have no clue what a late model Turbo S can do...
A stock TTS will hit mid 10's with grandma driving it - time and time again. The Z06 1/4's won't get there with anything but the most experienced drivers.
My TTS was modded to about (crank) 700 HP /800 TQ. It does 2.3 0-60's time after time on **** roads around here. I wish my Z was as quick.
Starting at 100 MPH - stock, no mods....it's probably a drivers race...but up to 100 MPH...the Z won't get there nearly as quick. Transmissions have a lot to do with performance as well in both cars; it's not just engine and weight. And a 1/4 mile starts at the start line...not at 100 MPH.
I've seen a lot of lightly modded TTS's hitting very low 10's consistently...6-speed has a bunch of drivers doing it on them...and those are the 16's.
For all-around performance/ ride/ comfort...TTS wins hands down...for a lot more money, obviously.
For best bang for the buck, the Z06 takes all, but also rides like a dump truck compared to a TTS.
It takes less HP to make a TTS 1/4 faster than a Z06, period.

I'm new here but have owned Corvettes for 40 years and have had a lot of seat time drag racing them. I have both a 17 991.2 TTS and a 2016 Zo6-Z07. Stock for stock the TTS will outrun the Z06 period in a 1/4 mile. From 100 up, I think it's a drivers race. Anyone can get low 10 second times out of a Turbo S while the Vette takes more skill and experience! The stock Turbo S can do 2.6 zero to sixty with any amateur driving. I'd estimate you'd need 650hp in the Vette and a perfect launch to beat one. If the TTS is modded it's going to be all the more difficult. I bought the Z06 as a track car as I live near spring mountain and the TTS as a Tour in Style kind of car. They are two different beasts! The build quality and engineering in the Porsche are phenominal while the Vette is definitely a great bang for the buck! I suggest you owe it to yourself to drive both cars back to back. The high price of the TurboS will suddenly seem not so crazy! It's a great time to be an enthusiast!
