Default Taking aero to the next level with a TIKT splitter #becauseracecar!

Last week we finished up installing the TIKT splitter on my car to balance out the rear wing. It looks so aggressive and the difference on the track is amazing, even with M1 Concourse being a slower track. It sticks like glue. The splitter comes with a street and race undertray, but I'm just going to run the race undertray all the time. I have to be very careful with driveways, but it's not impossible with the right technique. The splitter comes with an oil cooler which is fed air by an opening between the splitter and the front fascia.

The look is so aggressive and amazing. It was a real show stopper at Cars & Coffee Saturday and on the street people go nuts for the car. I can't count how many people just drive next to this car with their phones taking video.

I love it.

Those do not appear to be stock brake cooling ducts either... Care to share info??

Edit - actually, on second look those appear to be the Porsche style scoops that just zip tie to the control arm and allow for a 3" flex duct to attached to the top. I am curious what was done for the upper spindle mount/dump.

They are TIKT brake cooler ducts that come with the heat exchanger system.

Very reminiscent of the 14-15 Z28s.
Can you buy just parts of the kit like the brake ducts or the splitter?

Default Increase in downforce?

Jason,
A few questions. Is the stock C7 rear aero removed when the TIKT wing is installed? How much of an increase in downforce (front and rear) do these TIKT aero components generate over the Z06 stage 3 aero? Also do you know if they generate the same amount of drag as the stage 3 aero.
TIA,
Bill

The wickers are removed. The base spoiler stays.

We have not had their products in the wind tunnel and neither have they. I cannot give you downforce figures. I can say they will generate more drag though. That I would put money on.

Shouldn't the wing theoretically produce less drag? I thought that was an advantage of moving to an actual wing. You gain downforce while reducing drag.

Depends on the airfoil's L/D ratio. Generally speaking when you increase downforce you increase drag, but if the wing's L/D ratio is more efficient than a stock spoiler with wickers it could have less drag at a given wing angle of attack. Got to go to a wind tunnel to find out.

Or 3D scan the car with both options and run CFD analysis. NASA released their tools a few years ago to the public - in surprised more companies are not taking advantage of this.

It would hurt top speed in a drag race, half mile, mile or top speed type of race. For high speed stability 150+mph you may need something, but this is probably too much.
