Just recently added some bolts, tune and Nitto dr's to our 2017 ZO6 a/t.
Wanted to take a couple test hits before going to the track so I found a country backroad a few miles from home.
First question is turning off the traction control. I've read many threads that explains to press the center mode button twice to turn it off. I only need to press ours once to receive the TC off notice? I'm I missing something?
Brake torqued in T mode to around 1500 rpms, let off the brake and hammered it. She spun for about 10 feet and seemed to stop spinning fast and then shifted into the next gear. Our C5 with similar RWHP & TQ would light the dr's up at a 15/20 roll. From a dead stop, forget about it.
Something doesn't seem right.
Just a wild *** guess... if you had TC off but DSC still on, if the rear started to drift sideways while you were doing it, maybe it kicked in, cut the throttle, and upshifted for you.
I purchased the car used and probably should dig into the owners manual sooner than later because I'm sure there are many things I'm missing. Didn't buy the car from a GM dealer, so there wasn't much assistance with the cars capabilities.
How can I disable the DSC?
Thanks!

That may not be so bad. That is what I like to have on my autocross launches. Just a short stretch of wheel spin and then catch and go. Next time bring the launch rpm up to 2K.
DSC (or as it used to be called AH) doesn't limit wheel slip unless the car starts go go sideways.
I'd post it but it's a couple of pages of various options and ways to do it, you should look to decide which is the best for you. It's page 199 in the 2016 manual.
Brute force method: Stabilitrak can be turned off by pressing and holding the TC button for 10 seconds... but be careful, of course, I wouldn't drive around that way.
