I have a 2015 Z06. After first starting car when I shift to Drive I can count to 7 before it engages. Two trips to dealer and same problem.

Lots of posts on this phenomenon. Suggestions seem to be A: Pause, till idle settles at normal speed before shifting B: Live with it. I'm not telling you this, only what I've read. If other problems crop up such as, shuddering under acceleration, shifts slower/harder in other gears, any noises not heard before, etc., time for another dealer visit. Good luck
I park forward in my garage. So I need to wait a few seconds before I can reverse.
These transmissions seem a little slow at building up pressure when cold.
My 2015 Denali had the same issue and it's the same TSB-- replace stator shaft. I had it done and it improved 60-70%. Still a little delay but greatly improved.

My 15 Z will back out of the garage with no hesitation, but when put in drive or manual will hesitate and bang into gear quite violently. Almost feels like someone rams into my rear.
On one of the sites listing a service bulletin, someone stated they had the fix done and it was worse than ever. Approaching the end of 3 year warranty, sure glad I have the 5 year, 100,000 drive train warranty.
Start car. Wait 2-3 seconds, put in R.
Wait 2-3 seconds, give it a little gas.
Back out my 20 feet, the first few of which will be slow, but now it's ready to go.
Basically, I space those two little delays into spots where I think you should delay anyway - right after startup and after changing gears - and combined they seem to do the trick.
I still don't like it because it falls into the "special knowledge you need to operate the car" which I hate, but incorporating it that way avoids it being inconvenient.

That's not right. Been there. Dealer had to drop the trans and a part was replaced. This is a known issue and based on those sysmptoms it should not be hard to diagnose. I also saw a delay in shifting if I rolled into a turn and then floored it...the delay would last long enough to be unsettling as it seemed to "hunt" for a gear.
Started car. Waited 5 seconds to put into reverse. Backed out 20 feet, put in drive, as I was pausing before touching the accelerater, the transmission jerked into gear. Not as violently as before, but still real jerky. Glad I have the 100k drive train warranty since I am approaching 3 years!
