A video demonstration of how to use Launch Control
Worked up a video on Launch Control in my C7 Z06. Doing a second one to add a few things. This is just a basic how do I do a launch using launch control. Works the same for a standard transmission only difference is instead of standing on the brake with your left foot, you depress the clutch.

Helpful video, explains launch control simply, as advertised. However I would respectfully suggest that you edit out the music and the long drive to your "Mexican test track". I had to turn the volume up from normal to clearly hear your spiel, but then had to mute it when the music came on. Doesn't add anything and can be easily edited out or reduced in volume. --Bob

Thanks, yes I made the drive too long and the volume is kinda loud.
Appreciate the comment.

Informative video!!
I gotta read the owners manual more. I didn't even know about this feature. I mean i did but never tried to read about it to try it.
I feel like trying it now lol

Very good, only thing I would mention in the demo in the beginning you said that all you had to do is hit the gas but you were still in Park.

Good catch. I think I was making sure I didn't launch the car through the garage and into the kitchen. Wife would not be very happy!!!

I did not hear a bog in the video. Ever so slightly on the interior video
I always used sport 1, I will now try sport 2 to see if the bog diminishes.
Thanks for the video 427bob.
At Spring Mountain they call the bog "flutter" as the electronics control ignition to manage traction. I heard it slightly at school, but not in the video.

Nice video Bob. I usually use launch control in Race mode, I didn't know you could launch in Sport 2 mode. I'll try it next time. Thanks
p.s Mexico looks a lot like Ocala to me. How are you enjoying Florida?

427Bob, thanks so much for all your work and documentation.
Still, I have some questions.
When I've used the routine you described, I had the same issues that you did, like not being able to apply enough brake pressure to keep the car from moving, or the rear wheels from spinning during "brake-torquing". (This shows up toward the end of the video).
While I'm still somewhat of a newbie at learning to launch my auto ZO6, one thing I've found is that "brake-torquing" will launch quite well from any mode, including "touring" mode.
I've read hardly anything about anyone who uses "launch mode" to get the best quarter mile times. Yes, things could be much different in street racing situations, when the computer may be able to figure out the traction situation much faster than the driver can.
Still, I have some questions.

It might be that "brake-torquing" is a quicker way to launch. And maybe the "nannies" in Launch Mode" might be more helpful.
Interesting stuff!!

Very nice video. I am curious though as to why when you launched the last time the wheels seemed to spin a little before the launch. I also recall reading in some of the other threads on Launching where I believe guys that were running a 1/4 mile track used it in touring mode. Just curious if that would work better than Sport 1 or 2.

I've got to experiment in the different Performance Traction Management modes. And also get to the drag strip to get a base line number while the car is still stock. (that might make a fun video)

The little wheel spin was driver error. I just let up on the brake a bit, felt a little wheel spin, pressed harder on the brake, got her back to 0, waited a sec or 2, then got the launch from 0. If you watch the vid inside the car, you can see my MPH go to 7 then back to 0.

Other modes, like touring or sport, yes, didn't need to press the brake all that hard. Revved to about 2000 or 2200 with the brake on, and took off pretty good when the brake was realeased.
It would be great to sort all this stuff out, and again, thanks for your contributions, 427bob.

So far, I haven't been able to press hard enough on the brake to keep the car stationary at full throttle in any of the "track modes".
