My 2017 zo6 with 750 miles on it was running great until a few full throttle accelerations where it backfired when shifting (in automatic) . It accelerated well but the backfiringdurring the two shifts were a little disconcerting.
Has anyone had this issue before I take it back to Chevy?
Thanks in advance.
A backfire is when the air/fuel mixture ignites in the intake tract before entering the cylinder. It is an explosion that travels up out of the heads, through the intake manifold and out the intake...
An Afterfire, sometimes called Afterburn, is an audible popping sound, individual or multiple that often occurs when the fuel/air mixture is too rich or has a momentary instance of a rich condition. This pop at times can and do resemble small caliber firearms going off. Afterfire occur in the exhaust and is heard out the tailpipes.

"Backfiring" during paddle-shifts, has been a source of pride for many BMW owners. Ya hear it quote regularly around Bellevue, Washington, and also around Redmond, Washington, a few miles away, the birthplace of Microsoft operating systems.
I grew up around that area, and I'm hard-pressed to find my way around any more. So much has changed, since big money took over the area.
I've never experienced my C7 ZO6 actually backfiring during a shift, but the throttle cut during shifting might loosely mimic it

All C7s do that. Even my lowly 2014 Stingray. It sounds really cool. The only thing that would make it cooler would be flames from the exhaust pipes as it shifted.
