I find that mine can not cool the car down after it sits in the sun. I do live in Ga and it is all black. No help from the dealer visit. This week will try to get the windows tinted. I hope that helps. Did not have this issue with prior black Corvettes.
My new Vette does not cool like my escalade or hellcat, and the Vette stays much hotter for much longer than the other two, just lower with less grill opening, so on real hot days the Vette stays in the garage, my Vette has a transparent top so that does not help

Window tinting does help a good bit.
Of course, depending upon where you park, you can leave the windows cracked open an inch... this helps.
Given general A/C performance, I have 3 vehicles.
Dodge Ram Dually > Hellcat > Vette
Hellcat is better than the Vette it seems.... Hellcat whole front end is opened up for cooling. But reality is nothing cools better than my Dually. Of course it has radiator/condenser the size of Rhode Island.
I agree... It's the worst A/C of any car ever owned and much worse than any of the various C6's I've owned. The cooled seats are a joke as well.
The new Cadillac's do not have this issue with A/C or seats so I find it odd that the Corvette couldn't get it right.
Does anyone else have issues with their a/c not being very effective?
Is there a fix or should I learn to live with it?
If you go into the on screen settings you may find that the default max fan speed for the automatic A/C is set to medium. Set it to high, the car cools much better. ( I think this was done to keep the fan from being too noisy in the interior)
Also the A/C is taxed due to the heavy amount of heat transfer from the exhaust and engine to the floor. I have found if you set the A/C outlets to mix both the floor and the dash vents and manually run the A/C fan at a higher speed to compensate for the loss of flow to the dash, it helps in some cases. Plus when in this mode if you run the seat fans at high to grab the cool air you are sending to the floor and circulate it through the seat it helps tremendously. Much of the heat you are feeling is from your body and the leather seat itself, the seat fan helps with this.
However the seat fans are only fans. Therefore if you use them they are circulating whatever air they get from the cabin floor, so you have to keep this in mind.
If you don't send cool air down there you are sending hot air from the floor through your seat!

The transparent top is more of a factor here than most think.
Even though its tinted it increases the heat load in the cabin a great bit on a sunny day.
Most folks comparing the Vettes A/C to other cars forget this factor.
For my C5 and C6 there was a inexpensive plastic/nylon mesh that you could purchase that adhered to the glass by static (no glue or residue). It just rolls on and peels off and you can still see through the top.
It cut down on the cabin temps noticeably. I haven't bought one for the C7 but I am sure they are out there.

The AC compressor on my 2017 Z is physically smaller than the compressor on the 2008 I was working on the other day. I agree the C7 seems to be weaker in the AC department, I will try dar's tips. My AC and vented seats struggle when it has been in the sun, but it is great coming out of the garage.

Got the plastic last week, TY. All my vette's have had the transparent tops.
I totally agree that the c7 isn't as good as the C6 AC. I live in Texas and some days it's just bearable when driving around with the AC maxed out on Low.
However I have noticed that my C7 Z51 cools much better than my Z06. So the car generating heat theory may have some weight.
This might have something to do with the color of the car and the top type.
Mine is a 2017 white with a white top. It cools just fine even on high 90 days. So well in fact that my wife had her side set to 78 or so during our last trip in 90+ 76 dew point weather.
My white 2017 isn't very good and I have a white top. It's fine as long as I'm moving and have the rpm's up, but the second I stop or am moving slowly, it almost feels like the compressor kicks off. It feels like it gets real humid in the car
I've read a couple threads on this but it doesn't seem like anyone has found a solution for it. I'm sure GM will say that it's working as deigned. Meanwhile, my 16 Denali will blow snowballs at you non stop no matter if you're moving or not.
Comparing the cooling rate of a C7 to a 6 passenger SUV with less then a full compliment of occupants is foolish. The SUV has a cooling system designed to cool a much larger interior area with 6 passengers.
Would you expect a two bedroom apartment cooling system to have the same BTU extraction capability as a 7 room house?

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
