A little more info please. Not saying you did it wrong but what were your procedures. Were you in track mode, did you floor the gas & hold till rpm settled, then slip clutch (you have to quickly, not normal way)? Did you perform a NLS? '16 Z M7

I posted this in another thread but I'll ask it again here. I assume you lift off the throttle when you shift. Does this turn off launch control? And also do the M7's pull to one side during heavy acceleration? If it did then I would assume the traction control turned off.
I'm running 10.7's - every time with launch control. I don't think that is too slow. I would use it more than a few times before I completely wrote it off. Just my 2 cents
I have a few youtube videos of me on the drag strip. Just google "Jeffrey Beasley Z06". You will see one with me against a ZL1 Camaro then another against a GT500. Both times, launch control.

At the Drag Strip with my M7 Z06 I never come off the throttle. Remember our vettes have NLS (no lift shift). I have MT ET SS Drag radials on the rear and Nitto Invo's on the front. I never feel the rear shifting either during my pulls. Hope this helps
I've done LC on just about every run at the 1/2mi events I've driven at. One big thing is how cold the PSS are. By my third run in a row or so they're warm enough to give my best launches. I've had multiple 0-60 in the 3.0-3.1s area with my M7. YMMV

Not to sound ignorant, but can someone confirm the No Lift Shift on an M7. Another words, you can shift through each gear without having to lift off the gas? Is that accurate? I have a 2016 Z06, thanks in advance.

Yes, but my understanding is that you must shift at around 6000 rpms.

Yep, thats correct. My problem is training my brain not to lift!

Confirmed with the M7 NLS. When I am at the drag strip, from launch control in 1st all the way through 4th gear - I am at WOT the whole time. It does take a couple practice runs as stated above. Your brain fights it the entire way.
I may have to give the launch control another shot as I just dumped the clutch rather than releasing like a would if at the track. At my local track on stock tires I "launch" leave around 2200 rpm with Longtubes and a tune, run consistent low 12s ran 2 12.1s I'm thinking with an ET Street R I could High 11 the car. When I no lift shifted, the car makes an awful noise, that weird limiter sound like you tried doing a burnout with T/C on. I'm assuming its trying to save the clutch from slipping too much. I had the car in track mode and double clicked the T/C button for the "competition driving mode".
