Why so many Z06's for sale?

The M6 have all the luxury features and fast, but it felt like a pig through twisty and spiritual driving,
The 991C2S is a world better in handling, 400HP, 3200LBS, sounds exotics, fast 30-90MPH then lack powers up top,
The C7 Z06 sounds powerful and very good, handling very well, fast 30-130MPH, interior could be better compares to the C2S and M6, but not very fast up top 130+ MPH or 0-60MPH, fastest I got was 3.7
The 991TTS with Kline Inconel exhaust and Tune, 630+ HP, 0-60 2.5-2.7 with my horrible driving, 1/4 miles in 10.3-10.5 @ 130+, sounds decent, luxury on the inside, trick out suspension for the street, beautiful build and TTS wheels, 130-160MPH comes really fast compares to Z06.
At the end of the days, I choose the 991TTS over the Z06 because it was an all-rounder, it does well in every aspects. Z06 on the other hand, give me that adrenaline rush that I still missed it sometime but lack in other department.

Same goes for me. I went from a 2013 Grand Sport to a 2017 Z06 and the insurance went up $60 per year to around $600 with full coverage and a $750 deductible.

I am going to try and avoid a mistake by paying full pop for the Corvette Z06 school prior to purchase. I bought a 991 911s and over a couple years time felt is was too good? A little numb? Disconnected? I sold it!
So instead of buying and regretting it I thought spending the money up front on the most aggressive test ride was a good idea. It will be interesting to see if I still want to buy the car.

i agree, that and people unprepared for such a powerful car. insurance was about 40% more than a stingray and the tires same etc. add that to people used to putting their foot down like they're trying to crush a beetle and the oh sh*t feeling they get. the car is a supercar. i love mine but i went in with eyes wide open and knew what it was to own and drive one (coming from other high hp cars with much less sophisticated nannies).
I drove a Z07 A8 multiple times as well as bout 5 other C7's auto, M7 and even a pro-charged A8. I knew regardless of what model i picked it would at least be as powerful as the LT4 in the end.

"So many" for sale is very subjective. It's also the "off season" across much of America and instead of having a car collect dust, throwing out feelers now ahead of spring. Moving up to a ZR1? Selling now waiting for the C8? End of the C7 era......who knows.

I've had several corvettes. the C7 Z06 is by far the best at any kind of driving (short of Snow and Rain). Comfortable, fast, beautiful, exhilarating, lots of mods if you choose to. You can make this car anything you want. I will never sell mine. I know never is an awfully long time but really it is the best Corvette for me IMO ever. I don't track it but love to play with it on the open road. Every time I get in it I get a really great rush. That's just me. My wife loves it too. We have owned it for three years and we also have a C6 for long haul trips. But the Z06 is by far the favorite. Pick up the best one you can and enjoy it. Don't let anyone change your mind if you think its right for you. Test drive one and you will agree. Of course any car can make you dangerous but you have to have some common sense when you drive one of these and know your abilities. But it will grow on you once you understand what this Corvette can do.

Price will change as soon as the C8 drops and people realize that the Z06 (ZR1 being the exception) was the last great FE Vette. I’m sorry but many people are not interested in a ME Vette. I let my neighbor drive my Vert Z07 M7 right before winter and had a hell of a time getting him out of the car. Last words out of his mouth were “it doesn’t get any better than this”. The Z06 will live on!

As for buying new for a (10-15% discount) vs. buying used (for a larger discount), I completely understand that's a personal preference. I never buy new cars and instead typically buy 1-3 year old used cars with low miles. I bought my '16 Z06 3LZ M7 coupe w/ 12k miles for almost 40% off MSRP.
Btw, I realize NNN's post and the OP's initial post are from a 1 1/2 years ago, and this thread was just recently revived. I just thought I'd throw out some data points in case they are helpful for anyone now looking for a used Z06.

For many saving 13% off new, plus a warranty is a win. The 16’s around me we’re going for $60K. Even low mileage versions showed wear, paint defects, no warranty, and didn’t have the added front cooler and revised shock mapping. For me the PDR is a needed feature and the ‘19’s camera is noticeably better than the 16’s. I also financed mine as there’s no reason to tie up over $70K in an asset when my Credit Union gave me 2.49% for 72mos versus a used car interest rate of 4.99%. So in my case the extra $19K was worth it for:
1) Full B2B warranty with 2 $150 oil changes
2) Better MRC shocks
3) Better PDR and parking camera
4) Auxiliary cooler installed from the factory versus $1,000 part plus install cost
5) Absolutely better condition with no interior or exterior issues
6) Better interest rate makes the 2019 $85K total payback on $79K purchase price versus the 2016’s $69K payback for the $60K loan. That shrinks the actual cost differential to $16K.
7) Finally for my choice, Sebring Orange wasn’t available in 2016
So the question for me given the true cost differential was, is it worth $16K more to have a 2019 with warranty($5K), better shocks($600), better camera($1K), Auxiliary cooler($1K) and a perfect car with no worries about proper break-in or wear/tear?
Absolutely.

I think almost 30,000 C7 Z06s have been produced to date, so even if just 10% of the owners were now selling (not an unreasonable number after 3+ years since production started), that would mean 3,000 Z06s would have been sold or are on the market.

U would never buy a new Corvette again. No way. Not unless they did another 20% off. I am so glad I got it when u did.
Ps. Thw mrsc shocks are the same all years. It's an update which I had done on GMs dime. And it changed the entire driving experience for me
Many used Z06 and GS had this done as well done had to pay and I would have gladly (and paid more than the 350 they charge)

Not to mention the gmpp 84mos platinum warranty which doesnt even kick in until the end of October (which is when my last gen C7 b2b wears out) when I'll probably have 10k mies on it.
Like I said. First new and last new. No reason when so many are sitting in people's garage collecting dust with 1 or 2k miles on it. And mine sits in NY climate controlled garage when not driven. It really is as new a used car you can get.. I wish you well. Just make sure you hold on to that new one for a while.... cause it'll be a bloodbath if you don't lol.
