Just installed AFE cold air intake. Used non-oiled filter, MAFS installed correctly and breather/vent hose connected. Everything is tight but now have a check engine light. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 2018 Z06
You need to know the code that thru the CEL. If you don't have a code reader, take the car to parts store like Auto Zone, O'Reily's , Pep Boys, etc. They will normally read & clear the code if you want to clear it once you know what the code pertains to. I have seen some folks post that OnStar can also tell you the code but I don't know this for sure. Of course under warranty you can take to dealer but they will not be happy that you have modded the air intake system & will probably at the least charge you to diagnose the code. If by some very strange chance your very minor mods cause a problem that is serious (can't imagine that) they could deny warranty repair if needed. You could remove the mod, have the code cleared, then reinstall to check if problem recurs. Possibly the car will have to go thru a certain # of "drive cycles" (too much to go into detail here) to allow the ECU (computer) to relearn the new parameters of the change in air/fuel mix & could clear itself. I suggest just drive it 3-4 times & see if code clears (if car is running ok).

Welcome to the forum. I would remove the aftermarket intake and replace the stock one. Clear the code and drive it to see if the code comes back. If it does not come back on then you may require a tune with the new intake to adjust some of the air flow parameters that are causing you to get the CEL. The air flow parameters in the tune are pretty tight on the 2017 and I expect they are the same on the 2018. Apparently this was done to discourage aftermarket intakes. There are several threads on this and even a few that have stock cars with stock intakes throwing CELs at high track speeds because the parameters to trigger the CEL are too narrow. Supposedly GM is preparing a updated factory tune to open these parameters slightly.
Did you disconnect your battery first? If not start the car and open and close the hood. Should correct it. If not it should clear after 2 or 3 starts.
Not a new problem if the battery wasn't disconnected.
