I bought a new one from out of state. CA to Nevada
Before you sign any papers.. I still recommend going and seeing the car in person.. Too many stories of bad deals gone bad.. Unless its a reputable CHEVY dealer, not an used car dealership.

"reputable" Chevy dealer, that's funny. Doesn't matter who it is go and see in person.
Car dealers are like any other profession, good ones and bad ones. Just because you are a Chevy dealer doesn't make you a good one.

Out of state purchase went well. Bought a new in stock car and had shipped. Need to do the first smog for California. Go talk to a real smog business, not mom and pop hole in a wall. Went real smooth for me. you need 7 cold starts, a long drive and a quick 20 min freeway drive just before the actual smog test. My guy said bring it in and hooked it up , told me what to do, after a few days, he hooked again, said needed one more cold start, drive and comeback. Passed. next smog in 6 years.
I suggest drive for a week or two, get oil change then get a smog. i wanted mine done in 5 days, so i went cruisin. Throttle on and off to create vacuum also high and low speeds, not to stay continuous for very long periods during the break in period.

Ask the selling dealer to give you the history of the car. They get this easily when they use the car VIN to search its service history. They you will know everything about the car and whether it would be a good purchase or a major headache.

The last, long distance purchase of a used Z06 I made was my last Z, a C6
Z WITH 2500 miles on it. I spoke with the owner at length, got detailed pics and a complete service history on the car. Agreed on a price pending my satisfactory inspection. I then flew out of Boston to Missouri.
The car was perfect. Did a bank wire transfer from my bank to his while we both sat in his bank. Left with the title and the car. Drove 1100 miles home, stopped at the Corvette Museum on the way. Never was able to wipe the grin off my face.

I used South Beach Trucking and was satisfied. I am almost sure they put it out for bidding but it was quick shipping and on time. Back to your original question, I would want to see a used vehicle if purchasing out of state. There are too many things that can go wrong and misrepresented these days. Mine was new with 47 miles on it.

I bought my 2006 Z06 from an out of state owner a year or so ago. The car had 2,086 miles on it and was like brand new. He was the original owner and sent me some great photos of the car. I talked with him at length and also talked to the mechanic that worked on the car. Felt very comfortable buying it from him without actually seeing the car in person. He assured me that I would not be disappointed and I wasn't. The car was absolutely perfect except for one tiny scratch on the low driver's door. My main concern were rock chips and scratches. But with only 2,000 miles, I felt that the car would be near perfect. Not sure I would do it again, but this is the second car I have purchased out of state without a physically inspection. I had it shipped down to Texas by auto carrier and used Reliable Carriers. Those guys are pros - use an enclosed trailer and cover the car. Overall great experience. I would not drive the car back since I am sensitive to the miles and wear and tear I put on my car.
