Default Has anyone tried ClearPlex on their windshield??

I'm thinking ahead for when I get a new ZR1. My 2016 Z06 has chips all over the windshield and it is driving me crazy. I will definitely doing the Xpel **** all over the car also.

After a year, I'm very happy with the ClearPlex protection on my 2016 Z06 windshield.

I would definitely do it again. I've heard stuff hit the windshield that I thought for sure was going to leave a mark, and yet the windshield is still mark/pit free.

My C5 windshields have taken a beating over the years.

Great thing to have but it's sensitive and needs extra care.
It will start cracking if you don't apply conditioner every couple of months (depending on how often it's sets in the sun)
It will get scratched if you accidentally run wipers on dry dusty surface. If you don't, the dealer will manage to do it when it's time for service. (I pulled the wipers fuse)
You have to alert the car wash, dealer not to write any codes on the windshield. I alerted my dealer and they still managed to write something then tried to scrub it with a blade when it didn't come off . Anyway, they paid for replacement.

You wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you.

I haven't experienced the sun thing, but mine is in covered parking at work during the day.

There are also limitations on which cleaners to use. I use Adam's windshield cleaner when its really dirty, other than that just water works really well.

I don't use car washes, so I never thought about that aspect.

Looking into these guys. Our local guy says $100 to put install. This is my second Z. 2600 miles and the windshield is all pitted already. My last one with 8 k was crushed. If you do anything but drive the car to the mall, you need something on these cars

Have had Clearplex on multiple vehicles over the years including the Z06. I haven't experienced too many issues with it, and I don't really spend a lot of time taking care of it; just coat it with the recommended 'wax' every couple of months.

It is extremely important to get it installed by an experienced 'clear bra' installer; preferably by someone very familiar with the product as it is much more difficult to install well than 'regular' clear bra product.

I agree with the poster above who mentions the Windshield Armor product as this is what I'd go with now.

Treat these as a 1-2 year lifespan product and replace as necessary.

Wonder how it would look with an already pitted windshield.....

Probably not too good as it might exacerbate the imperfections. Far better to get a new windshield if you're keeping the car and then immediately protect it after install would be my guess.
