Default '16 Z06 A8 vibration

A little frustrated with my Z06. TC was replaced 2 weeks ago and the vibration remains. I have shut off AFM and replaced the belt with the gates green belt. Still no success. The car vibrates from 45mph to 65 mph. You don't really feel the vibration on the steering wheel. It's felt more on my seat and passenger seat. Actually feels like the entire car is vibrating. Not violently, but enough to be annoying. Any suggestions or ideas?

I plan to have the tires balanced again this coming week before taking it to the dealer again.

I have a '15 A8 with what sounds like the same vibration. It's worse at lower RPMs. My dealer wasn't able to diagnosis the source of the vibration, but they did rule out the torque converter. Last week a Chevy Field Tech came to the dealership and we went for a drive. He did remark about the abnormal vibration. The car is currently at the dealership undergoing more tests.

This is what I am worried about. Keep me posted on their findings. Hopefully they can figure it out before I drop mine off. Good luck.

Does it still vibrate at that speed using different gears and rpms, and when shifted into neutral?

Does it vibrate at a certain rpm in park or neutral with the car sitting still?

Completed a few tests this morning. Does not matter what gear I am in including neutral. If I am between 45-65mph I can feel the vibration/hesitation. It feels the worst at 45-50mph. I was surprised that the vibration continued even while in neutral. This might eliminate the TC/Transmission.

Not the converter. If it's the same in any gear. Just my opinion.

does it do it on every road same speed?

Couple different roads by me including the Garden State Parkway cause my car to ride funny but it's very short stretch enough to annoy the crap out of me maybe a quarter-mile half-mile it's the wide tires and the groove set in by the trucks. vibrates the whole car some harmonic frequency. That's why i asked about the road.

does it go away at higher speed or just speed up the vibration? Could be any number of things.

torque tube, rear, axle something where rpm is constantly increasing since you said engine speed and trans gear didn't matter.

my bet would be wheel bearing somewhere, rear or axle.

bring it back tell them to properly diagnose it. The Z06 doesn't have anywhere near the instance of torque converter pulsing annoyances that the LT1 cars have shown. At least as a sampling on this forum.

I have a similar condition on my 16Z06. Mine is actually the torque tube, flexplate and bearings in the TT. The parts are on back order right now.

I am making an appointment with the dealer today.

The vibration is consistent. I feel it on smooth roads and bumpy roads. The dealer better not tell me they could not reproduce the vibration. It does it every single time.

Another way is to swap one wheel/tire with a buddy and see if it stops and which one. Or swap them all at once and then replace one at a time to figure out which tire.

so many things it could be process of elimination.

My least favorite method for identifying a problem. But might be my only choice.

Definitely do a ride-along with the service tech.

It suggests wheel imbalance, or out-of-round (bent) wheels. Could also possibly suggest wheel bearings, or some problem with the rear axles.

The torque tube operates at engine speed, not road speed, so probably nothing on the engine side of the transmission.

I have had the same issue for quite a while. Please keep us posted if the problem is ever fixed. Good luck. Mine is slight but now that I know it's there, it's annoying. Guess I've just been waiting to see if it gets any worse? It's been exactly the same for over 5K miles.

These wheels aren't cheap, I hope I don't have to buy replacements.

I have scheduled a ride along with the shop foreman. I will keep you all posted.

GM has covered bent wheels under warranty for many people.
