2019 model coming out in late November
#2
Mike Furman just sent an email confirming each model year etc. so it’s happening. I think it sucks. I cancelled my order for the 2018. I jump in and out of cars 1-2 years. So it pained me to cancel the order.

I think the only thing that would really **** off the 2018 owners, is if the 2019 has significant changes. If the 2019 offers the same colors, same trim, etc., with the announced electronics and oil changes only, than no big deal.
However, if the 2019s have the new front fascia seen on the ZR1 (Z06?) tests mules that offers improved cooling and/or an improved automatic transmission, A10 or secondary cooler, etc., than that will **** off many 2018 owners.
I'm not expecting a HP bump, however I think something major is happening to force GM into moving all models, not just the 2019 ZR1, up to early production. If not, why not just introduce the ZR1 as an early 2019 and let the other models run through a standard (2018) production cycle?!

I think Mike Furman's post said "no major changes". Maybe the major changes will be waiting until the end of 2018 to be ordered as a 2020 model.

This will make the inventory of new 2017’s stagnating on deAler lots worth a lot less.
If if someone doesn’t mind a 2017 that’s been sitting in the elements for a year with 50 to a 100 miles of test drives. I would only pick up a “lot rat” for 25 to 30 percent off sticker price
I guess you can have a reputable shop detail a new “lot rat” and do paint correction which they need anyways.

Finalist 2020 C7 of the Year -- Unmodified
A couple of threads going on about this subject in C7 general discussion and it is 100% happening.

This sucks. GM should allow all 2018 owners and even previous years free updates for any cooling changes. Guess that's why I am taking part in the lawsuit so I can be one of those who may receive the updates based on current settlement negotiations.

Zo6 inventory is thin! Discounts are way less than 2016!

I have not had the chance to run my 18 Z06 hard yet but have let it idle for close to an hour it stayed around 190-200 my other vette would be 230 they have come a long way but why don't they just put the bigger radiator in there and fix the dam problem. I put a high compression 505hp in my 84 vette and a bigger radiator and better fan system and have run it hard now it stays 210 or lower ???????????

There are plenty of threads about the heat issue. A bigger radiator doesn't work. My 18's oil gets over 270F on the track.
I already have over 6,000 miles on my 18. It's been great. If the 19 gets major upgrades I might buy one of those. The existence of a 19 doesn't change your 18's trade in value.

Cars.com has 800+ z06's (2016&2017&18) within a 500 mile radius of my zipcode. -- there are quite a few out there. I don't see 'em moving fast. if inventory is thin, buyers are even thinner. -- Looks like 2018's will be sparse with 2019 being manufactured starting on the 29th of Jan of 2018.

I imagine this has been brought up already, but I wonder if they halted production of 18's early so they can start selling 19's with a refreshed front fascia that has better cooling? That way GM has less people complaining about the C7 cooling.

Maybe that -- and the new paint process to improve the finish quality.
