M7 Tranny cooler

M7 Tranny cooler
Finally pulled the build sheet on my car. It lists and "MEK" for M7 tranny, but also shows a "KNP" for transmission oil cooling system. Still not having access to the service manuals, can someone fill me in on how and where the manual tranny cooling is on the car?

The tranny cooler is on the driver's side behind the rear wheel and the rear end cooler is on the passenger side behind the rear wheel.

Here is a picture taken of the GM Cutaway Car that is used in shows.
The horizontal radiator in this picture is used for two different purposes. If the car is an A8 the radiator is a supplemental transmission cooler in addition to the one in the rear. If the car is an M7 then it is a supplemental radiator that provides additional coolant cooling coming out of the engine oil cooler.

The M7 tranny cooler doesn’t have the fan. Wish it did.

Unless those scoops really aren’t that effective. I question how much airflow they really generate. A fan would also dissipate heat between sessions. The tranny holds heat like crazy. Cool down laps don’t do much to change the temps. You have to shut her down and let it sit.

Doesn’t it have its own pump? It’s below it on the drivers side. For sure the car needs to be running. But if I drive the 3 miles from Sebring to the Shell station, everything cools down except the trans. That temp sits at 240F despite driving 50-60mph to the station and back. I think the fan might have decent potential to help.

How many of us have problems with the M7 transmission temperature? I haven't had any issues. I have seen transmission temps in the 255 range which doesn't seem bad.
