Cost to upgrade stock brakes from Z06 to Z07 Package?
Thinking about upgrading the stock brakes on my 2016 Z06, and I know the Z07 package has upgraded brakes for tracking......has anyone upgraded to the Z07 brake package...was it worth it? Have any idea of the cost of the upgraded brake package? Part numbers etc.?
Thanks,

I would think that the aftermarket would have better and cheaper full ceramic brake kit options. I'm sure the track guys will have some great suggestions.
If you're looking for OEM parts then you may want to go ahead and sale a kidney.

Melting Slicks
I took them off my 17 GS and replaced them with steel. Work great but for a dedicated track car they are expensive. It is a straight bolt on deal though, and they look awesome through the wheel!

You're looking at about 7k.

From the dealer the rotors are around 2k a piece. Sure you can get them a little cheaper sometimes by shopping around, but the option at 7500 is the cheapest way to get the whole set up. Rotors, pads, and calipers bought after the fact is a more expensive way of doing it for sure.

You really don't want to install the carbon brakes as there are better solutions. They are excellent brakes on the track and I really liked them, however, the replacement parts are just too expensive.
At Amazon the front rotors are $1300 each, the rear rotors are $1800 each. Front pads are about $500 and rear pads are about $500. So about $7200 in rotors/pads.
You can put the largest Essex AP Racing kit on the front for about $5200 (including a couple of sets of pads, 1 street the other track). The Essex AP Racing rear kit goes for about $3900. The rotors are cast iron and they last as long as the Stock Ceramic Rotors before needing replacement (about 13-15 track days for the front rotors). The AP Racing front pads are just a bit smaller than an inch thick compared to about 16mm for the stock pads. The replacement cost for the rotor rings is about $350 Vs the $1300 for the stock front rotors. It doesn't take long to achieve the benefit of lower cost replacement parts.
Last year I had to replace the front ceramic rotors and pads on my Z07. The replacement cost for the rotors was going to be $2600 plus $500 for the pads. Instead I spent $5200 on the Essex kit. So I was down $2100 right at the start. This year I had to replace the Essex kit front rotors after 13 days (same life I got from the ceramics). The replacement rings and hardware cost me $650. So now I am only down $150 since if I had stayed with the ceramics I would have been dishing out $2600 instead of the $650. The next time when I need to replace the rotors I will be ahead on cost by several hundred dollars.
I had to replace the rear ceramics this year. A set of pads and rotors was going to set me back about $4K while the complete Essex kit only cost me $3900. So I was $100 ahead just by not purchasing the stock rotors and pads.
My Ceramic brakes are sitting on a shelf in a box waiting to be reinstalled when I sell the car.
