Driving in snow!!
I just got a text from forum member jimman. He drove from San Diego to Wisconsin to spend the holiday with family and is now heading back to SoCal. During this trip you can see that he passed 90,000 miles on his 2015 Crystal Red Metalic Z06:
And you can see it’s a COLD -9*!!!!

That's great Nice to see him enjoying it. I won't drive mine in that slop, but it's great to see how these cars can handle it. Back in the the early 70's my 65 was my daily driver in the Boston area. Still have the car, now with over 300,000 miles. It survived and so did I.

I live in Oregon and have property in Nebraska. I drove the 3200
mile round trip 6 times in 2016.
They closed the Interstate with 9 inches of snow deep on the off ramp and I sat for hours then they opened it a Corvette
would have NOT made the trip!
Very foolish to cross Wyoming in the winter, I just got back 2 weeks ago missed the minus 13 weather and will not try to go back till April too dangerous in december - January not worth the trip.
The weather can over take you in an SUV let a lone a fish out of water Corvette on frozen snow packed roads.
May god help guide him. It is far more no common sense than brass *****!

As for the video, it was cold but the road didn't look bad as it looked like it was cold enough to keep the snow turning to ice when it hit the ground. Dry cold powdery snow blows off the road and you can keep the hammer down. The other thing is when it gets down below zero ice isn't as slippery since it doesn't melt when a tire runs over it. The reason ice is slippery under a tire or foot is the weight pressure melts the ice and the tire/foot is basically hydroplaning on a layer of water on top of the ice. Same idea as an ice skate.

So I'm not the only Z owner that listens to Fox News!
Some of you may of seen this photo before. Supposedly it was in my neck of the woods upstate NY. I promise to use my Silverado to go riding Sat in 4 foot plus snow here!

I’m jealous. I’m really itchy for another road trip. I haven’t gone anywhere to speak of since trip in October from Boston south shore to Charleston, SC. But, can’t go anywhere with snow and Z07 ground effects. Bad enough that I broke the visual carbon fiber chin splitter a year ago after hitting an Armadillo in TX on way back from CA.

I lived in Pensacola for 3 years (almost 40 years ago!!) and we got wet snow a couple times. It was on the ground for only a few hours before melting.
It's supposed to get down to around freezing tonight and Thurs night here in the Daytona area, but no precip.
The problem with snow in the deep south is that when it does occur people just keep driving normally on their worn out summer tires and have wrecks all over the place.
So....if you get snow, look out for the whacko drivers zooming around like there's nothing different from normal FL day!!!

I guess, if that's the only vehicle you have and you don't want to rent a more appropriate one. While I drive back to Wyoming often, from October through April I will take one of the trucks before the Z but that's just me.

Good to see a Z being driven.

Drive mine in snow too, with Conti DWs, and always wondered if there was any tire temp display colder than green. Now I know!

I disagree Bill. Living in Detroit we get our share. Black ice and also polished ice from cars slamming on the brakes are probably the worst.
Can't store or operate the Cup2 tires at temps below +20 degrees.
