Default A new owner of ZO6/ZO7, Bonjour de France

Good morning. Hello,

in my introductory post, https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...9-bonjour.html, I promised to put pictures of my ZO6 ZO7 stage 3. I received it on 09/11/2017 and the A8 is for me a pure marvel, I was a fierce fan of mechanical gearbox. I will only use with the paddle shift, for me closer to a mechanical gearbox so what I know than an automatic gearbox. It is a 3LZ, double roof with a transparent, carbon interior and leather. In France, it will only be the 4th ZO7 including mine.

I thank all the members who gave me good advices about accessories and answered my questions, I will come back later on this subject.

You have to be brave and willing to pay for this because the French government of Emmanuel Macron becomes hysterical with its pollution, as if you could prevent the earth from evolving itself. To have the right to drive here with a Z, there are 23 000€ taxes ($27900 at the rate today) ! it makes me think, but I can still stand up to those *** who only think of taking taxpayers' money. Unfortunately, many will turn away from their passion, the Vette. But I'll keep going.

Save the wave! A bientôt, se you soon, hasta luego...1776-1789

PS : excuse me, I know my english is perfectible.

EXCELLENT!!!!! Thanks for posting up pictures of your beautiful car!! I know you’ll enjoy it, and hopefully it will be well accepted by all the owners of exotic high performance Euro cars - it has equal or better performance than most all of those other cars.

Keep us informed about what people think of it as you drive it around. I’m sure many people will admire it!

Awesome pics! Congrats & welcome! I cannot imagine paying $27,000 in taxes to own a car of any kind-you must not work at McDonalds! I also can't picture me driving one of these in Paris. We visited Paris & did all the tourist stuff & was constantly amazed at the traffic situation even way back then. I was in our Air Force & was in Europe in '89 & had the great luck to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday in Paris at the top of a very high restaurant. Can't remember the name, she was not a fan of Escargot! Again congratulations!!

Congrats! What a beautiful car! A Corvette must be a rare occurrence in Europe.

Please look into getting a Ported Throttle Body (Tony Mamo or Katech) as it will greatly help you with throttle response from idle.

Congratulations. Wish you great driving. Although I live in the Northeast US I wish I could drive my 2016 Z06 A8 in Europe. I love driving through Austria, Northern Italy, Germany (autobahn of course), and Switzerland, unfortunately just with rental cars.

As others have suggested, I would also install a Tony Mamo throttle body and a cold air intake (I chose AFE and it's great). Both together add some 55-60 horsepower and, in my case and others, have not thrown any codes, and do not impact the warranty. They are low cold for the benefits and are easily reversed if necessary.

Welcome and congratulations. I too would be interested in the responses you get in Europe. What kind of fuel octane can you get and how much is it per gallon?

Thank you all. I know already some of you, mainly on the thread F1 of CF, BEZ06, Corvette63, VetteDrmr, Dookey. I shall do a response for every one tomorrow and I think you will be surprised by the perception of the Vette in Europe. I'll also have questions about Mamo's throttle. It's 11:58 pm here, I'm already in bed writing with one eye . Be patient until tomorrow.

Friendly.

Richard.

My girlfriend is from Lyon, France... her stepmother and a friend came to visit last summer and were amazed by my Z06/7. They said they'd choose the Z06 over a Ferrari any day! lol...I was surprised. They said they see Ferrari's all the time, but the rarity of seeing a Corvette just amazed them.
