I've had a 15 A8 07, that GM replaced w 17. My 17 A8 07, can run about 5-10 minutes more on track than the 15 did, before overheating. Strangely the oil temp seems to climb to 300 faster than the coolant. ? don't understand this. FYI- My 15 came with instructions to add 1/2 qt of oil for track use, then remove. I got oil ingestion into the intake while throwing it around the track. Then that changed, and that is not the recommendation now. I'm thinking that was a way of helping with oil overheating w more volume, small as it may be???

Im happy w my 17, but certainly can't compete on the track for over 12-15 minutes of hard driving. and yes, even paddling/short shifting.

The YouTube post was from October 2015, so this likely was a first year Z06. When I went last year, we were instructed to use the paddle shifters on our A8's, and that is supposed to help reduce chance of overheating...which may have been a procedural result of incidents like that.

I didn't take it as "bad mouthing" as informing the driver what was happening.. Two and half years later (since this video was posted) the subject was met with mild silence and a change of subject. Something has been said.

Can you just do the COS then run level 3 or do you have to take level 2 first?

it made no changes since 2017 so it would have the same outcome Manuals being fine automatics overheating.

COS counts as level 1. You can take level 2 after COS, but if Level 3 requires level 2, than my understanding is no ou can not go from COS (Level 1 light) to level 3.
