Default 60 ft help/improvements

2017 A8
I consistently trap at around 130.40 to 130.60 MPH in the 10.7 ET range. Problem is my 60ft is not the greatest. . . 1.662. I have the OE runflats upfront and 19" reproduction with NTO5r's 345/30's in the rear. I've came out at a little above idle to around 1500 rpm's with everything off, traction control, etc. I'm thinking we might need to get rid of the OE wheels altogether.
Open to suggestions.
Thanks!

What psi in your NT05R's are you using?

Are you spinning on the hit? I’ll take it your spinning at the hit. Your times are identical to my times last year. My best 60’ was a 1.7 and believe me I tried everything from 15psi to 30 and nothing helped. I was able to match my time of 10.7 but at 127 but I pulled some timing to quit spinning but that was it for me I wanted to hook not reduce power.
i went 15” conversion and front skinnies now but haven’t been to track yet. I’ve also made a couple of upgrades so power level is up And I’m so anxious to get to track and see what it’ll do!
Skinnies will help you a little and also for me I got better hookup with only a very slight burnout. Just enough to clean the tires off they stuck better than when I gave them a huge smoky burnout.
Good luck!!

Thanks for your response!

Every time I've been to the track, it was a rental and they did not prep the track very well or at all. I would hook backing in to my burnout, but once I cleared that, she would briefly break loose.
I've purchased a set of RCC 17" x 4.5 with MT Frontrunner over the Winter and haven't made a pass with them as of yet.

I'm working with David Carlyle on the spindle conversion, but haven't pulled the trigger. I was deciding whether to go the 15" or 17" route. Are you happy with the conversion and were there any problems with the install or alignment issues afterwards?

Thanks again!

I have had very good luck using a 325/35-18 Mickey Thompson Et Street R. I run them at 18 psi cold and my 60ft's are in the 1.3x on average.

What do you have done to the vehicle? Do you have it tuned to remove the torque management on the launch?

Also the replica wheels are heavy as hell and I dropped a tenth of a second just by switching to a light weight wheel option. I dropped another tenth of a second by switching to a shorter Hoosier drag radial after that.

I sincerely think that is the problem. The OE/Repro wheels weight a ton. The Nitto dr's don't help in the weight area either.

Thanks for your response.

I know others have had good luck leaving at idle. I get my best 60's (1.5s) loading up the converter.

The tires are mounted on 18 x 12 Forgeline GA1R's that i got from CW4L. I run the same style wheel in a 19 x10 with a non run flat tire.

Same for me, loading up the converter seems to work the best.

Any idea how much lighter your wheels are compared to the C7Z wheels?

The rim is a few ounces under 21 lbs on my shipping scale and the tire according to MT is 33 lbs but can't confirm. When i had the Hoosiers mounted on those wheels it came in at 47 lbs on the same scale. My stock rear rim and run flat tire would come in at 61 lbs.

I have a 2017 Z07 that I just mounted some replica wheels and Nito5r's on and I am hopeful to get some track time on tonight.
I am still new to this car and questioning the TPMS when reducing the tire pressure. When I installed the wheels the car did not auto learn the new sensors and then it cut out some of my selector modes. All modes inside of track were not available and then the double click on hold to turn off TC and AH would not work.
I guess if I make it out tonight I will find out but just questioning if this has been problems for others.

I have the same rear set-up as you and haven't had any issues with the TPMS. With so little sidewall on the 19" wheel tire combo I don't think dropping to much air pressure will change things that much. If you go to low you risk the rim spinning on the tire.
Good luck!

Are you at OE ride height or lowered?

Thanks
