The 285/30R19 & 335/25R20 Pilot Sport AS3+ ZP tires were launched with some fanfare and promotion at Michelin corporate for the C7 Grand Sport & Z06 Corvette fitment. The production was scheduled and the plan was to officially release them on April 1st.
We have just received word that these tires have been delayed in production, and the expected launch date is now September 1. We verified this at the highest levels of Michelin. Initially, their thought was a delay to a July 1 launch, but they are telling us the new launch date is September 1. While, it is very unusual for Michelin to delay tires after committing to a launch date it has, unfortunately, happened to the Z06/Z07/GS community.

I cancelled my order for the Michelin's...cant wait until September. Michelin has been dangling this tire in front of us for too long with no tires being produced. The Continentals are on the way to my home today. Enough of the Michelin silliness. They used to be a good tire company...

Hey Luke, for those of us that have tried to purchase these tires and have missed out on various discounts offered by Michelin, will there be any sort of offer/discount like this extended to those that preordered?
"When you purchase any set of four (4) new MICHELIN® brand passenger or light truck tires you may be eligible to receive a $70 Mastercard® Reward Card after submission.* Offer valid on tires purchased from Tire Rack's in-stock inventory between 12:00 a.m. EDT March 21, 2018 and 11:59 p.m. EDT April 19, 2018."

All of those promotions and based on the shipping date not the order date. Historically Michelin runs similar promotions in the fall.

Adam (pictured below) is the Michelin engineer who chose to delay the launch of this tire for the Corvette Z06 & GS till September ‘18. He stated that the most recent delay was due to the Michelin engineers not being satisfied with the noise that the new tires were generating. Adam’s team is tweaking/testing a slightly modified design to ensure that it meets their noise targets while still hitting performance requirements.
On one hand, I’m past-ready for these new all season tires to come. On the other hand, I appreciate Adam and his team for sweating the details to ensure that Michelin delivers another quality product. I’m #24 on Luke’s ZO6/GS Michelin A/S 3+ list at Tire Rack. Give him at call at 888-727-8092 (ext.4362) or email luke@tirerack.com.

That's cool. Did he say where their current and noise targets were relative to the super sports? Quieter, louder, same?
