Default Alignment rack clearance issues

My ‘18 Zo6 is in the shop (local dealer) having tires mounted on new wheels. Trying to convince the shop foreman to lower on stock bolts. Meeting a little resistance due to:
1. They planned to do it on the alignment rack but are afraid they might not get it off without damaging the front splitter (stage 3).
2. Now they say that it might void the warranty.
3. Last excuse is that they are hesitant because the dealership is a franchise and they don’t want problems if they damage the car and I complain to GM.
My opinion is they are lazy and inexperienced.

Has anyone had issues with lowered cars on stock bolts clearing alignment racks? Considering just getting it home and lowering it myself but worried that we might not get it on the rack for alignment later. I feel like they’ve got got me worried over something that a couple of 2x’s could remedy to ramp the front end up to clear the rack.

Not asking for comments regarding the dealer, just any experience with possible clearance. My searches turn up nothing.

It is tight on a stock height car. You can get the guy to raise the front of the rack a little as you put it on, use some section of 2x6 to raise the front a little to get on the rack.

Yes, it is an issue even with a stock height car and can also be related to the make and model rack they have to do the work on. Two years ago a Chevy dealer couldn't get my stock height 15 Z06 which has a higher ride height than the non Z06 cars on their rack to do an alignment. They had to send the car over to their Cadillac Service Center where they had a different rack they could get the car on. My C6Z06 caused multiple dealers headaches getting the car on and off racks and lifts. Then I added side skirts and it took a half hour just to get the car on the lifts they had in the shops.

Lowering looks good but usually provides no benefit other than looks.

Thanks guys !
I finally convinced them to just “try”. They lowered full bolt and then built long ramps and got it done. Haven’t driven it yet, plan to pick up in the morning.
