Default Mild 2 Wild Switch

Picked up a 2015 Z06 a few days ago and have a question on the dual mode exhaust.

I noticed through the touch screen settings I can set the exhaust mode to "track" and this seems to leave the exhaust open all the time. Doesn't this serve the same purpose as an aftermarket mild 2 wild switch?

There are some subtle differences, but in essence, yes.

As Jim notes, essentially yes. I find the factory options provide me enough lattitude in sound management. I drive a lot in Tour and often leave the exhaust in Track mode until I get near home then I have to quiet it down or my wife yells at me for disturbing the neighbors. Lately, I more often leave engine sound management in Auto which makes it quiet while in Tour but it switches to louder in Sport. So when I want it louder I just switch the suspension to Sport. With the recent Mag Ride programming upgrade, Sport is actually pretty decent to use around town. --Bob

You can put it in stealth, but as soon as you hit 3500 rpm, exhaust opens to track as to expel exhaust gases. FYI

The M2W is very easy to install and unobtrusive and works without getting into settings. So I went that way.

I use the M2W and have it set up for use on the visor homelink.
It makes opening and closing fast without having look at the screen and take your eyes off the road.
With the M2W you are completely open or completely closed. Just set sound management in stealth mode.
It comes with 2 remotes but I've never used them.
It comes in handy if you have x-pipe or headers and the man pulls right behind you.

I really don't see the advantage of the M2W. If you want a loud exhaust just put set the exhaust in permanent track mode and it is open all the time.

Yes.
Its not necessary to have one as the ZO6 as it has the option to open and close the valves on the screen.

Its an option to turn on and off faster without taking your eyes off the road when you need the exhaust to be quiet fast.
A lot of the local towns I drive through frown upon loud exhaust. So do the officers that pull out right behind you or pull out their decibel meters as you drive by.
I personally like driving with loud exhaust most of the time, but when i need to quiet it down super fast, its a nice option...
That is why i use the homelink. I never have to take my eyes off the road.
But that is just me being me, as you said the ZO6 does not need one its just an option.

Look into AUTO METER "Dash Logic." The device plugs into your OBDII lets you adjust on the fly via the mirror (3) position position switch LOUD... STEALTH...FACTORY.

Also lets you set parameters of Coolant temps spark retard, intake temp...etc.

Why not just switch from Sport to Tour when you want to go quiet? That way you don't even need to move your hand off the shift console. I keep my steering in Tour mode all the time anyway, so that's not an issue. Aside from going quiet, it does change the suspension to Tour as well, but if you're going "mild" anyway, does that really matter?

I have the M2W and there is a difference in the sound from track mode and while using the switch. It’s louder using the M2W. My understanding is in track mode the valves are not fully open as they are while using the switch or pulling the fuse.
