M7 launching
Yes, I know.. "not another launch thread "
I need some advice. I've tried just about everything there is to try. I have a 15 Z06, w/ Z07 and M7 trans. Mods are 2" Longtube headers, CAI, 2.31 upper pulley, short throw shifter and tune. Running on PSS 335's. Made 624/667 on a low reading dynomite dyno while running hot, so it's probably around 650ish.
Best I can hit is a 11.35 @ 127 with a 2.0 60'. I've only been able to hit less than 2.0 one time. I've tried launching at different RPMs (between 1000-3500), slipping the clutch, dumping the clutch (usually when I dump it, the clutch sticks to the floor and won't come back up for a while and I smell burning clutch and CEL comes on... wtf is that about?). I'm not even going to consider launch control as I've heard it's garbage. What else can I do to get this 60' down? I'm doing a decent burnout every time. I'm trying not to get DRs or different wheels (I'd like wheel/tire setup to stay stock unless someone can recommend a tire that's good for 95% daily driving and occasional 1/4 mile racing). I've seen posts of people hitting 1.6-1.7 60' BONE STOCK on the M7, so what am I doing wrong? I took the center wickerbill off the rear but that doesn't really help 60' anyway.
Please, spare the "it's a manual not an auto so it's going to be hard to get a good 60'." I know this already. But I feel like this car should be able to hit at least a 1.8 60' and in the 10's even with a manual. If people can do it with a bone stock m7 it can be done with a modded m7.

Im here for advice too.... I cant launch with either sets of tires... I either bog or spin! Hopefully the DSC contorller will give me a LITTTLE more grip at launch and save me!

this is going to be one of those things you have to practice. Its hard to get these cars out of the hole on stock tires. 1.8 60ft would probably be about the best you could get i think. The thing i would be concerned about is your trap speed is pretty low. You should trap 133+ unless the air is trash or you shift really slow. Try coming out around 2000-2500 and slip it a little. If the prep is trash you will never hook.

Dumping the clutch problem you posted doesn't sound right. If that's happening sometimes, I suspect your clutch may be slipping (bad from overheating, may be shot) & not letting it hook up correctly. I suppose you've checked fluid level/condition? Only other thing I have is try NLS to get thru gears quicker/speed up.JMHO

Your MPH is low, unless you are running in super high DA. Sometimes mods don't work out as well as you would think they should. My completely stock M7 car trapped higher on the one pass I made even with me completely shutting down and getting back in because my launch was out of control (horrible 2.5 60').

NLS does wonders I will add ! You have to shift on the earlier side vs deep redline. Takes some practice but doesn't buck and pulls great, keeping momentum vs on/off shifting letting off and such.
My car was stock car on 18X12 reps with 335 Hoosier DR2s. 1st time out was bad prep lots of spin 11.6 @ 124mph 1.9 60' shifting normal , but fast as I could.
Next time out, better prep best of 1.778 60' and using NLS 11.139 127mph .
If you can't hook, def soo frustrating. Esp with your mods, some drag radials might be key.
I am in Spokane, WA track altitude around 2000' , not sure DA those days.
Good luck!

The trick with street tires is clutch slippage...start launching around 2000 RPM and slip the clutch while increasing throttle as the car begins to hook. Of course the tires must be hot and not too long of a burnout (the tires must squeal when you let off the brake). If car bogs too much, keep increasing launch RPM. This take a LOT of practice, good luck!

The best way to get educated is to ask some of the fastest Z06 M7 drivers on the List.
Maybe they could come into this post and give us some advice and their techniques.
