Default Side Front Vent Easy Install Pics Inside

got bit with the Carbon Fiber Bug.read the install on the front vents.driver side was easy, just undo inner fender and reach in and unscrew bolts.passenger side was not so easy.had to undo side skirt,,and undo fender and pull it away to get at bolts.this was something I did not want to do.so I ordered the vents and said well I will give it a try.when the vents arrived I saw they have tabs that lock into the fender in the front and three little screws in the back.so I said, ihave a better idea to prevent going through all that work and possibally wrecking something.i took the new passenger vent and measured where the mounted to the fender.i taped off the fender and got out my dremmel tool with cutout wheel.i fugered I would cut out the mounting points and the vent would slide out.so I cut up the stock vent,so what easy and cheap to replace if need be.worked like a charm.with vent out of the way bolts easy to get at and unscrew the old mounting hardware.went to autozone and bought 30 pound test 2 way red mounting tape.since the front vent locks into the fender, all you need is something to hold it in place.lined the back half with the red 2 way tape and installed the vent.if you have ever worked with this stuff you will know once you set it it will never come off.used duct tape to hold it tight in place over nite, even though that was probally not necessary.let it set for 24 hours and its done.for those out their who do not believe in this tape, let me tell you that I used it on my sideskirts and they have been on for 2 years and a lot of high speed driving and strong as ever.i am adding more pics to help install.double up the tape on the 3 mounting points where you remove the original screws.plae tape where you see it in the pic.white tape used for reference only.use red extreme 30 lb 2 way tape for mounting.

great shortcut but.... isn't the side vent part of the support for the fender opening? i know i read on here when the Z06 came out that the opening for the Z06 was so large that the vent provided support to the rest of the flimsy fender?

no its not.3 little 8 mm.flimsy screws bolt the vent to the fender.i removed the screws from the vent that bolt to the fender.i doubled up 2 way tape on those 3 mounting points and I went around the outside of the vent with the tape.that vent will never come off.the oem vent is only plastic, the CF vent is stronger and lighter.
