Anyone have a better idea for protecting the radiator than the screen I installed? Tried to use something to catch the big stuff without impeding the airflow. Would like to use a screen that is smaller, but not sure how low I can go without affecting the air flow.
What percentage open area does it have? All perforated or expanded products should have that spec. It will have some air flow loss but will it affect temps based on your driving style, who knows.
What are you trying to protect the radiator from? Been driving my car on the track for two + years and haven't had any issues with damage to the radiator although there have been plenty of track turds thrown up in front of my car where it runs into them at 100 + mph.
I drove 4 other cars on track over 23 years and never had an impact issue with the AC condenser or radiator. The only time I had a cooling issue due to track debris was when I ran through more than a mile of a Speedi Dri cloud and the particles got in the fins of the AC condenser and the radiator. Your screen wouldn't prevent anything like that.
