I just took mine into the dealer and told them I had a code and cleared the CEC. I gave them Service Bulletin #17-NA-264 and asked them to do it. It was done at no charge. Personally I just wanted to have the latest update (No CEC light) , while others do it because of high speed events or bolt on mods (to avoid CEC light coming on or had one come on). Not sure if the update was ever done at the factory or if they can check with the bulletin number. Couldn't hurt just to have them do it or look for that update.

DO NOT EXPECT the white glove treatment and knowledge base like you get with that amazing 2018 MB 63 ( great choice by the way!!!!) its not that technical at all.....
