Default Traction Control Issues

In Sport Mode I can push the traction control button twice and Traction
Control in OFF.

In Track = Push button twice and set to Race on Dash and traction control is ON.....
Is this right?

Thanks

No. In race there is no TC. There is torque management that will cut power, but no TC. Both control traction, but TC uses abs to apply brakes.

EDIT: I was mixed up. There is TC in race, but not stability control.

I am confused.........In all modes there is torque mgt....
In sport I can brake torque the tires and rear tires will spin standing still
BUT in Track and race with everything off the second the tires turn even
standing still with the car NOT moving = as soon as they even move an inch the
power is TOTALLY cutoff

‘When you switch to ‘Track’ mode, and then scroll to ‘Race’, are you pushing down on the button instead of just leaving everything alone, because if you are pushing anything the car is reverting to the base ‘Track’ setting with ALL nannies intact.

There is some good info in this thread.
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1590304017

I can't test mine right now since the car is screwed up and won't let me enter PTM, but as I recall in Track and Race it would let me have some wheel spin.

Both lights on is normal for track PTM. It just means you are in PTM.

NO!!!! Pushing the button after you are in Race Mode takes you out of Race Mode and to an unknown condition. The selector is in Track Mode but there is no definition of what that does without choosing one of the five drop down selections.

In Race Mode there is no TC (as it is commonly known) and no stability control. However, there is Performance Traction Management which helps corner exit.

In Sport 2 Mode there is no TC and there is no stability control and but you have PTM and a dampened response to throttle inputs.

In Sport 1 Mode there is no TC and there is a stability control function similar to competition mode. You still have PTM and the dampened throttle response.

Dampened throttle response doesn't mean you don't get full power. It means it doesn't happen as quickly which helps reduce incidents because some people move the throttle up and down too quickly.

I dont drag race, but when I do practice launches and 0 to 60 I have never used track mode. I use track mode on the road course. So when I launch in tour or sport I get a lot of wheel spin whether TC is on or off. That said my car has had ediff issues. Getting a new control module today and will be testing. Maybe you should see if there is something on YouTube about how it supposed to work.

John: just turn the dial until it shows Track; press down once and the various modes will be displayed, including Sport 1; Sport 2; Race, etc. Rotate the dial clockwise iirc until Race is showing. Then let go of the dial and do NOT press anything on the controller. At this point in time you will be in 'Race' mode with ESC and TC off, but with PTM still active.

Bish,
He has to press twice to get the sub menus. Sometimes the car will seem to have a mind of its own and won't respond right away but generally it will drop down to the sub menus right after the second push.

Sorry Bill I forgot it was twice. The really important thing though is not NOT push down at all once the DIC is showing Race, etc.

thanks,

OP - if what you're wanting to do is a drag strip launch, don't bother with the PTM sub menus at all. Just push the button down for 10 seconds or so and shut off TC and AH, and let 'er rip. You can do that in basic tour, sport or track settings.
