It will be much rarer than a auto for sure. I think its something like 80% of c7 z06 are auto's (dont quote me on that).

M7 is a great transmission and for me was the only choice. I did test drive the A8 before my purchase and played with the paddles, will leave it at that.

Just that the autos are selling way more than the manuals.

Maybe the autos are selling better, but when the other drivers hear that manual downshift, it;s always a little intimidating. Let's the other guy know you're already one level above him even before anything gets going.

Unless your disabled or make a living racing cars in the 1/8 mile...you Absolutely made the right choice. Why people buy a car like this in an auto for any other reason is insanity.

One of the primary reasons I got rid of my GTR was because I missed driving a manual so much. It was that important to me to have a manual that I sold my GTR primarily just for that. The car was boring to drive without a stick. I couldn't imagine driving a Vette in auto. I would be bored 2 minutes into every drive.

You made the right choice. M7 just keeps you more in control and in touch with the car. Love the rev matching and I just like to blip the throttle sitting at a stop light.

I have owned three Corvettes, all with manuals. I have a 2019 on order with the A8 only because my left knee has started to act up and I don't want to be unable to drive the car. The clutch in my 2013 ZR1 is really stiff.

You're a youngster so row them gears.

Like other's have said. Unless your a racer then the M7 is the right choice. Downshifting with rev matching is awesome, it makes the car more fun to drive, and you don't have to listen to the cheap "clicking" sound of paddle shifters in the A8.

That’s interesting, the C7 Z06 stock clutch isn’t stiff at all.

OP: I think you’ll like the M7 Z. It’s a fun car to drive.

My GTR was full bolt on making about 560 wheel, so about the same power as the Z. The GTR was fun because you could always put that power down at any given speed, gear, etc. But that got very boring for me. The Z takes more focus and skill to use the power. Totally different cars. The GTR wins in terms of easy to drive. The Z wins in all other departments in my opinion.
