I'm mostly just an information gatherer more than a poster but after listening to all the smart people on the forum, I decided on a DSC controller over the dealer installed update. I installed it tonight on my 2016 Z06 and ....Holy Shnikies... what a difference ! Took the sharp edges away and is much more pleasant to drive. Heading to the Tail next week to give it a go. Thanks forum members !

Don't forget to also get the alignment recommended by Mike at DSC - the alignment settings he came up with (caster, camber and toe settings) work in conjunction with the controller to ensure the car is responsive in a predictable manner.

a friend told me some guys are blowing their mag ride shocks from making the DSC too soft for comfort or something to that effect? is that true? If so, is it something a user is doing that is against the DSC inventor's recommendations causing that too happen? just curious? i too would rather buy the DSC then have a one time factory program (which i think is ridiculous to not throw into a service procedure for free on these cars. just leaves a bad taste in my mouth considering the other nonsensical issues they haven't addressed with them (no 2017+kit "exchange" as Tadge told me at Carlisle in 2016 and i reported back here, as well as the front fender vent issues, the bumper to fender paint issues, not to mention the overheating for A8's on track in hot temps itself, etc, etc, etc).

it would be one thing, if the calibration was from the "ground up" but it isn't... it's in EVERY 2019 as standard.

i'm actually weighing the difference of trading mine for a 19 given when it's 3 years old it will be close to needing tires, doesn't have the ridiculous mag ride update (what's that $2200 or so right there?) not to mention fender vent issues, stronger diff... blood boiling..sorry for rant lol

I can recall one person who posted that their MR shocks started leaking and also had the DSC controller installed but there is no proof that the controller caused that. All the controller does is adjust the shocks within their normal factory ranges, it just does it in a far more intelligent way.

Why would you go from a 16 Z to a 19 Z? lol makes no sense.

If you're thinking about an upgrade and/or a newer vette, just wait for the C8, or upgrade to the ZR1.

I can't think of any reason, other than maybe if your current Z has retained as much value as a new one, that justifies actually getting a newer year of the same model.

If it's an even swap, or even a couple bucks more per month to get the 19, then i guess i makes sense. But then you're back to the beginning of the loan term and you still have the same car lol.

Upgrade to the ZR1 or wait for the C8. That's what i'm doing. NO more mods for the Z. It's perfect the way it is. Now i just want to enjoy it until it's time to upgrade.
