GTR's are no slouch. The reason why it does so well, even at low power levels is because of the dual clutch. And the power band. When it shifts, not only is it instant, but it's in the power band at every shift.

That's why a dual clutch is MUCH needed in the new C8.

But who knows what the "real" RWHP was on that race vs the GTR.

Even though, that GTR moves. It's really a tough car to beat. From a dig or the roll. And it's a V6 too. Amazing.

It's a good thing it's not a drag race. It's a race for fastest MPH. An AWD car with launch control against a rwd car on a 20 inch tire. Also the gtr said he went 161 all weekend. The C7z went 185. So if that's what you mean by destroy then yes it got destroyed

Check out the videos and the other thread, the timing system wasn't working correctly, doubtful it went 185. And yes, it looked like a rape to me regardless of race type. Wonder what the z would do on a tire, why on earth would he be on a 20"?

185 first day 176 the second.... still 15 mph faster than the gtr no matter how you look at it....

I've never not been dug by a GTR. It would be interested to see a drag race with that vet setup for a drag race.

The GTR only ran a 10.32 at 132 1/4 mile and you can clearly see the z coming up on the GTR like a freight train.

You can see the driver stalled the car twice at the start. My guess was this was the first time the owner tried to launch a 1000hp car.

But the Z still lost. It would have lost in the 1/4 and it lost in the 1/2. It's "run whatcha brung".

If this was a standing mile, the Z would eventually gapped the GTR in the 2nd half of the mile. But clearly this GTR is a fast 1/4 and 1/2 mile car.

I tell you what though. That Z looks DAMN GOOD as it's catching up. I wish this was a standing mile race, because the Z would eventually pass this car.

No, because this type of racing isn't about ET, or who gets to the finish line first. It's about attaining the highest trap speed.

I know that. I didnt say it won a "trap speed" race, I said the gtr would have won in the 1/4 and it won in the 1/2. Regardless of the "type" of race this is, it was still done in the 1/2. And the z lost. Quite badly.
