Default Cold start squeel

On cold starts a pulley is squeeling. Not sure if tensioner or idler. Its on the blower belt rotation but cant isolate which. Anyone had issue with one going out? Id rather change it myself than take to dealer for something simple

Tad more info & video/audio would help us. Year/model, maybe even tranny but probably not that. There were TSBs for the belt on some yrs/models where dealer would replace belt with a Gates (green I think). Let us know please.

Something you can try. If familiar with corvetteactioncenter.com, go there & click on knowledge then C7 corvette then engine drivetrain. Go way down to 2017 TSB #PIP5492. It says it applies to VIN #s H5605159 thru H5605593. Good luck! PS: wish I knew how to link directly to that section-sorry. Good luck! Looked at video but I'm mostly deaf & couldn't hear anything!

take it to the dealer. Get it documented. I know it’s tough to take it in. But so worth it and when you make the appointment specifically ask who is their best vette technician. And make the appointment with that person. The service writers at elco do that for me. And no problems.

I have similar noise on my GS with the Magnuson S/C. It seemed to be coming from the tensioner. Didn't have a chance to further diagnose it since the noise went away during summer, but it is slowly coming back now as the weather cools down

Sounds like a bad bearing, not that uncommon and covered by warranty.

Take the belt loose takes 10 minutes. Turn each one by hand you will find it!

You can take a stethoscope and put it right up to each pulley and see if one is making more noise than the others. That usually works.

Did you ever find the cause of the noise? Just picked up a 2019 with same sound and it’s not belt or pulley (still there with belt off) but only on cold start.
