Default Stage 3 winglet removal, LOL

Really GM? There is no torque bit in the world that can fit with that extra, super clearance. I'm not the ripest orange in the banana tree but seriously? Lol

Theres actually torxs allen wrenches, 90° angle, don't know if those would fit but i put mine on regular hex bolts (aftermarket winglets). Look the wrenches up. Or you can Use the torx bit on it's own and a pair of pliers, should be enough to get it loose enough to use your fingers.

I couldn't even get a torque bit by itself in there lol

I guess I'll have to go shopping for a 90* bit.. I mean the space there is like half an inch

Idk. Have no problem accessing mine. A little manipulation but no issues?

1/4" wrench fits bits perfectly.

I ordered some products for the house that had to be assembled. The product included a cheap foot long torx bit that fits at an angle into that narrow space and can turn the bolt head. My fancy expensive torx bits are built to heavily to fit into the space but that cheap freebie is perfect. You also have to lower the air dam and the undertray under the car so you can get to the nut on the other end and hold it so it doesn't spin. If you don't do that you won't get the bolt loose.

This. I used a ratchet with a 1/4” drive and torx bit to remove that screw. It’s off angle slightly but wasn’t an issue.

I'm sure GM sells a "special" wrench for $100.

I'm over it, there is literally about half an inch of play if that. There's no ratchet than can fit a torqe bit with half an inch that I can find. Oh well, guess I'm not changing out my spats anytime soon.

Once you get them off replace the torx head bolt for a regular hex head that way you can put a box wrench on the end of it next time (plenty of room for that) and get it right off. This is what I did when I first put the canards on because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to tighten them down originally.

A stretch, but can you find a 90 degree torx allen and then trim it way down with a grinder to get the clearance?

Use a torx but attached to a universal extension then you can pivot the extension out of the way then attach ti to your ratchet to break torque. Then spin it out with your hand. You could just as easily take a pair of side cutters or small pliers and just grab it and turn it loose. It not gonna be on there tight.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I just recently installed the stage 3 winglets and i don't think you need to remove it to install the spats? You can just loosen the 3 bolts on the back on the winglet

Are you serial? Hmm.. I know the Spats have a screw at the bottom and thought the winglet will be in the way. I can remove the 3 screws on the backside of the winglet but not sure if the winglet will get lose after that.

Yeah but you installed the winglet, I'm just trying to take off my spats lol..

Yes, remove the 3 screws on the backside but I don't think you need the winglet to be loose. The spat just sits between the winglet and the bumper so try sliding it out after you have removed the tape and the bolts holding the spat. Let me know if that works!
