Default BMS filter gain....

so I’ll gain at least 15-25 hp with just this filter? Seems like a huge gain from just a filter. But I’ve also read that cai will gain you up to 40hp without tuning. That’s a huge improvement and these are actual proven numbers?

Yes they are the low flow filter GM uses on the 460 hp motor is reused on the 650 hp motor. A Halltech intake install takes a stock M7 right to 600 rwhp

The BMS Air Filter should net you 10-15% more air flow. As to HP, the only way to know is via a dyno test.

The benefit should be better throttle response. I didn't get mine for the HP.

Same with me. If i gained power cool, i did it because i already had the PTB and wanted that "extra" smoothness and response lol

I didn't get a before abd after dyno nor a before and after 1/4 run but SOTP feel, i would say yes it helped.

Plus i did notice the engine accelerates or revs up more freely or "faster". But maybe that's placebo.

Whatever benefit i got from it, then it was worth the 80 bucks for the filter. It's only 80 bucks.

And i have a '16 so i don't get any codes. 15-16 cars are more forgiving with these breather mods. 17+ and you can read all the threads of people having issues. So much for the newer models having all the bugs worked out lol

I’ve read the 17+ are hit and miss. I have a BMS I’ve been waiting to put on. Just got my Borla X-pipe put on a couple weeks ago. Have had a Mamo TB for a few months. No issues yet. Will get the BMS put in soon and post my thoughts.

I have the green filter now and wonder if it's worth the swap, I'm debating it.

I would leave it. I thought you had a stock filter.

Then again i heard some people having long term problems with the green filter because of the oil. So maybe you should get a BMS lol

If you get a code all you have to do is switch one if not all back to stock and let it clear. Slight chance you’ll need to go to Auto Zone etc. and have them clear it for free, then drive it for maybe 50-100 miles for complete code clear. The code really isn’t an issue tbh.

Agreed. That’s why I did it one at a time. If I have an issue with the filter I’ll take it back out. Cars fine with the TB and Xpipe. Just doing what I can without a tune. Promised the wife I’d wait for warranty to be done before going the big power route.

I installed a BMS filter at the same time I got a Mamo TB. For some reason, my car never adjusted properly to that filter. Never threw a code, but just never seemed to idle properly. I left it on for over three months and just took it off last weekend and put the OEM filter back on. Car idle's perfectly again.
