i was out for a ride this past weekend in my 2016 Z06 when the engine icon began flashing. My wife looked it up in the manual and it suggested engine misfire, catalytic converter / pollution. The manual also suggested shutting off the engine for 10 seconds then restarting which we did. The flashing icon did not return. The vehicle has just under 12K miles on it. Before this happened I did a couple 50% throttle accelerations.

Most of the time that indicates a misfire. Were you driving the car aggressively? Not sure 50% throttle really tells me too much. Did it feel or sound like traction control was on and/or sluggish.
If it is under warranty, definitely take it to the dealer! Could be a plug/wire/coil. I’ve had some issues lately where it will only misfire when the engine is nice and warm.

The two most common issues we've seen recently are plug wires that are not firmly attached or an injector that is failing. We've done several individual injector replacements and the most common time they fail is cold start or when hot and during an aggressive acceleration event.
I took it to the dealer. They found no error codes.
I mentioned that the battery / system voltage was indicating 15 volts.
seemed kinda high to me.
I did get into the throttle a few times, but we were with a large group and mostly cruising.
I plugged the battery tender in yesterday. I will check the voltage today.
