I change it based on GM's recommendations which is 5 years/150K miles. No need to do more often. I have been doing that with all of the Dexcool cars I have owned for the last 21 years with no issues. My 2003 Tahoe Tow vehicle just had its coolant changed for the third time this year and it still has all of the OEM hoses.
I have been tracking my 15Z for 3 seasons with about 35% track usage. I did have low coolant one time and topped it off and the issue hasn't come back. I didn't find any leaks that would have caused the level to drop. Since I topped it off the level has remained constant.
