I took my 2016 Z to the dealer to fix a few warranty Issues. One of those issues involved the front curb view camera.I thought the camera was supposed to come on automatically when the car was going 5mph or less when approaching a curb that is approx. 12in or less from your front bumper(chin spoiler),The service advisor said no it has to be turned on manually via the center stack.Anybody out there know about this...thnx...Ron
I know my when I back out of my garage the rear view camera comes on then when pulling forward the front view camera comes on.I think when just pulling up to a front parking curb or a side curb you have to turn the camera on .

Your dealer was correct, you have to press the button on the screen. It will however come on automatically when you shift from reverse to drive, or 1st in a manual.
Yes, as ckirsch100 mentions, the front camera only turns on automatically when you're in reverse first, then move to drive and slowly pull forward. Useful you're parallel parking. Otherwise you have to manually turn it on.
Thanks for the replies guys,I wish the camera would come on automatically when approaching a curb, it would have saved me some curb damage to my car, oh well....Ron
