I also traded in my 2008 Z06 and agree with your take. The LS7 also sounded a bit screechy to me but that was coming from A 2003 Z06 which sounded the best of all.

Thw c6z is more of a sports car. The c7z is a 2door Cadillac luxury car. I think the c6z feels faster up top. Others vehemently disagree. Once you get yours broken in and really hammer on it let us know.
Hindsight being 20/20. The c6z is a long term keeper once you get the heads fixed the c7z is not. Not as huge a fan of the c7z as I was of the c6z.
The stock lt 4 blower is low end push then runs out of air with the restrictive filter. In comes the 2300 Plug and play. My 2008 Z06 had headers and A&A kit hit 600 rwhp.
Nothing my friend like the Heartbeat and Halltech and headers. 673 rwhp and then I added the ZR1 95 MM TB. Quite positive it hits over 700 rwhp now.
MORE important is the butt load of RWTQ my 6th pulls like 4th did!
Less than 8k in parts total! unleashes the beast weighs less with more output than the new ZR1.

My C6zr1 was great, but pretty pointless on the street, considering how hard it was for that car to get any grip. The c7z in A8 form is easily the most practical and driver friendly sports car I have owned. My daily driver is an APR tuned Audi RS7 that runs mid 10's and I have to admit that the interior in the C7Z is awfully close to audi quality.
It's good to get the perspective of someone who has actually owned the prior generation ZR1 and Z06s.

Which interior do you have on your c7z (1LZ, 2LZ, or 3LZ)? Just curious which interior trim you have (I'd guess 3LZ) to get some perspective of your comment that it's close to the RS7 interior, which is nice to hear. I think the 3LZ interior (especially with the suede/alcantra seat inserts) is remarkably nice.

Default C7

Welcome! I had an 09 Z. Great car. It had the oil burning issue. It was traded in on my CTSV- Another great vehicle! Over the years I've had a c4, c5 ,c6 z and 2 c7z's of which my current is probably the best yet! Don't use Wi-Fi in a car though, but a CD player would be great! I'm with you on the exhaust, doesn't need to be changed out to anything- it wakes the neighbors when I start it up....

It sounds as if many of you had serious problems with your C6 Z06s. I had mine for 10 and a half years, 42,000 miles, 6 sets of tires, and all I did were oil changes other than a main seal replaced under warranty. (No leak, but the seal was wet.) It was the best car I ever had, and by a long shot. Other than the strong acceleration, the thing that surprised people the most was the fuel economy. I could get 35 mpg at 70-75 mph on the Interstate. My brother's Civic Hybrid doesn't do that well. I just bought my first tank of gas and drove the car at night. The lights are decent. The dimmer switch is different...took me a few tries, and I blinded a few madarfakers. Oops.

So far, I really like everything about this car. I shall continue to RTFM...

I never really paid much attention to the differences in materials between the trim levels until I got my C7Z. I had a 2017 1LT grand sport prior to my 2015 3LZ Z06. The 3LZ is so much nicer and I now understand the price difference!

I had the same experience with my 2008 Z06.....loved the car, and was sad to see it go.

I agree with most everyone here. The 3lz package gives the interior that little boost to really making the interior feel higher end. I really like it. The alcantara inserts in the seats are pretty awesome touch as well.

Delayed reaction, but I have the 2LZ with the optional seats. The interior is attractive and functional, and the seats were well worth the upcharge.
