I cant speak to ONLY having the Halltech installed, but I have the Halltech with the TRIC, and I am very happy with it. I make good power, and don't have a complaint other than not being able to drive in the rain. So I really have to watch the weather when I travel in the vehicle.

I stopped worrying about rain and the trick. I don't think the filter sees 1 drop of water in the rain at highway speed.

I get the theory of it having no place to go, and especially in a car wash. I thought about drilling a little hole in the back of the tube with a small duck bill valve, but didn't want to ruin a $400 piece of plastic. I asked about the updated part that was supposed to be coming to allow driving in the rain, but was told nobody was interested in it.

Anyways, I don't think there is a wrong way to go between the two options. I have the halltech and have been happy with it as mentioned. A friend has the AFE, and he makes great power with his and the mods he did.

First mod and one of the best. Great base for future mods!
