Haven't gapped a plug for a while. I don't think they are to set anymore. Iridium plugs come at the proper gap. The right plug comes at the right gap. Last plug I gapped was a copper plug. That was 5 or 6 changes ago and years ago I keep 5 cars. They come pre-gapped you buy the right one. Also cold plugs may or may not not be good

I put 20000 on my brisk 14R plugs. They didn’t need to be changed. Plugs looked great right color no deposits. 7&8 weren’t lean that’s because I run a maggy2300

his car is modified which necessitates a different gap than stock.

plugs don't come gapped, they just tell you that so you don't mess up the "exotic" materials. there is a lot of variance if you check them before installing.

I run RR10S gapped at .020, for the OP I would run RR14S gapped at .025

Denso ITV22 is what I use, make 785/865 and have gone as fast as 9.23@148. That’s a 7 heat range, .030 gap so you just put them in. ITV24 is 8 heat range. Great plug, no issues and I daily the car.

Sorry but you should check again plugs certainly do come gapped and the part number determines the gap.
This fact is not debatable you can say it is not that way all day long but it is!

I understand what you are saying. "Plugs come gapped." And they do come gapped. But that doesn't meant they come gapped RIGHT. And that is what I am saying.

What I am saying is you should check the gaps before assuming they are gapped as advertised. What I am also saying is they are gapped for a specific application, in this case STOCK vehicle.

OP has modifications, in which case, there is no part number to order, you have to check and adjust the gap yourself.

Hope that helps.

So is it a waste of money to change plugs @ 20k? lol

Idk i feel like i should. I usually maintain my cars based on time, not mileage.

I decided to try the brisk plugs as well since I’m now running E85 and 14.5 psi on my z06. Here is a comparison of 300 miles on brisk vs a whole year on pump gas with NGK’s. I pulled them the other day to check on them because I started to notice some random loss of throttle response.

LT4 = DENSO #20 heat range, 0.8mm gap
LT5 = DENSO #22 heat range, 0.8mm gap
What's the DENSO LT5 part number?

I couldn't find the Zr1 plugs local.
So I just got the Z06 DENSO.
